Valencia Star David Silva Rubbishes Reports Of His Juventus Ambitions
Los Che’s prized winger has shot down reports in the Italian media that he is already thinking about playing for the Old Lady of Turin next season…
As rumours continue to grow regarding David Silva’s uncertain future at Valencia, Serie A giants Juventus appear to have doubled up their efforts to sign the winger.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reported yesterday that Silva had spoken to them about his ambitions to play for the Bianconeri next term, but Silva has vehemently denied making such claims.
“It is not true that I said to anyone in the Italian media that I would like to play for Juventus or to win the Champions League with them… or with any other club, for that matter,” he told the club’s official website.
“Valencia have always showed their loyalty to me and now, I have the responsibility to do likewise,” he added.
Los Che continue to struggle with mounting problems on and off the pitch but Silva is hoping that the team can start putting their woes behind them starting with Saturday night’s clash with Recreativo Huelva.
“I would like that tomorrow, the fans forget about everything that has happened and come out and support the team. We need them much more than they think,” he assured.
“From the bottom of my heart, I want to ask for the support of our fans because as our coach [Unai Emery said, these times of difficulties calls for more unity.
“As for me, I just want to do all the talking on the field. I am anxious to play and show the fans the best that I can offer,” he concluded.
Valencia, who have only won once in their last ten competitive outings, are currently eighth in the Primera Division ladder, three points adrift from the Europa League [UEFA Cup] qualifying zone.
