It was when they got whipped by Juve and Inter.

We beat Juve once and drew with Inter at the San Siro. We lost to Inter 4-1 but that was a flattering score. Silly Bobo. Barca were the best team we played, none of your wop bullshit. Ale

What i stated were facts. Juve whipped you 2-0 and Inter whipped you 4-1. It was embarassing.

2-0 isn't a whipping in anyones book. The 4-1 was quite a close game, despite us having a man sent off after 5 minutes, just look at the stats.

Even the Bundesliga have ONE left lol!

You were 3-0 down by half time. The game was dead by then! The stats prove nothing! Inter were 3-0 up in the 2nd half, they could just sit back so the stats are skewed anyway.

Juve outclassed you in Turin. It was a 2-0 whipping.

Shearer should've been sent off aswell for his elbow on Cannavaro. Perhaps your players should be more disciplined. Inter's midfield was pretty crap (I'd rate Newcastle's higher) but they had 2 of the best strikers in the world and a good defence. What i expected from Newcastle is irrelevant. It was still a whipping.

We should've had a penalty because Cannavaro was hanging onto Shearer like a baby monkey.

Perhaps our players should've been more disciplined. In the 2nd match perhaps the Inter crowd shouldn't have made monkey chants at our black players. Who gives a fuck.

The super rich Inter comfortably beat a 10 man Newcastle team, great, i don't really get why you're showing off about this. <Ale>

that Newcastle team of that era was hardly put together on a shoestring Kimmy. Shearer, Bellamy, Robert, Jenas, Dyer, Viana, Cort, Bramble, Woodcock were all big money signings.

Cannavaro was ok in his first season, but there was the obvious dilema of who to pick at CB. Cordoba and Canna were the 2 best CBs based on ability but put the together and they are too similar and too short to be a good CB pairing. One of them had to be dropped to the bench with Materazzi coming in. Cuper even tried using Cannavaro as a RB at the beginning of the season.

Could only do this with Prem players, wouldn't have a clue elsewhere. But then it would just be a variation on non-top-4 dream team. something like

    Jaaskeleinen
    Richards-L.King-Upson-Baines
    Arteta-Palacios-Barry-Young
    Defoe-Yakubu?

Canna was just marking him tightly, either way that doesn't mean Sherer has the right to elbow him.

I don't know why you have to start talking about what happened off the pitch. It was disgraceful, but it's not relevant to this discussion.

Yabadabakubu played for Macaibi Haifa against Man United, scored aswell I think. He was awesome on Championship Manager that season.

Arteta surely played in the CL for Rangers.

For a person who bashes the Olympics an awful lot, there's a lot of similarities and a touch of hypocrisy over the way you go about asserting the Toon's superiority over Spurs, compared to how the Olympic movement works, i.e.

I say: "Newcastle have won nothing for 40 years, whilst Spurs have picked up 9 pieces of silverware in that time"

You say: "But you've never been in Champions League have you? Never mind that we haven't won anything, taking part in the competition is what counts!

Hmmmmm we should end this once and for all...Spurs vs Newcastle Utd.

    Which one is more succesful!!

Newcastle played CL and came close to a title...but the EPL wasnt as strong as it is today.

Spurs have done fuck all in Europe, but have won some silverware, even though it's not really nice silverware.

That is true!! So it should really be a Everton v Villa debate...

Villa actually won a title in color and the CL!!! And Birmingham are the 2nd biggest city, so they should have a bigger support as well. And if it wasnt for MON being a disgrace, they actually would have gone 4th this year. Something Spurs failed...they came close though.

It all depends on the era you grow up in really. Until recently if you said Aston Villa to me, i would think "Steve Staunton", and if you said Everton i would think "John Oster".
