Pick your 3 favourite CL seasons!

and give your reasons...

Going on the ones i actually watched, i picked:

98-99 - All the the KO stage games were pretty entertaining and quite balanced apart from the Bayern - Kaiserslautern game. Final was very dramatic and the group stage back then always proved to be interesting with only 6 teams qualifying. Man Utd - Barca and Inter - Real were some great games.

00-01 - Entertaining set of KO games on the whole. Was good seeing Real - Bayern back in those days. Both group stages had some good matches - Lazio - Real Madrid, Juventus - HSV, Milan - Barca, Bayern - Arsenal etc.

04-05 - Obviously a classic final. Milan - PSV semi final ws very good and Chelsea - Liverpool had some good controversy. Barca - Chelsea in the last 16 was also a classic, plus the group stages had some good matches like Milan - Barca and Liverpool - Olmypiakos.

Best quarter final round I can remember for a hell of a long time - probably since the late 90s

97-98 Because that is the year that we finally won the CL again.

01-02 Because that is the year we won the 9th CL and there were some very memorable moments along the way (eliminating Bayern in quarters, eliminating Barcelona in semis, Zidane's goal in the final)

02-03 I picked this because even though we didn't win I thought we maybe played the best football in this CL. And of course the quarterfinal tie with Man U will go down as one of my great footballing memories.

03-04 was a disappointment.

You'd go through if Figo didn't miss the penalty against Juve. As soon as it happened + Nedved suspension, I knew it gonna be a dull final between 2 Serie A sides. Milan v Madrid will be much better.

Shame they wern't, but it's no excuse. Juve were missing Tacchinardi, Davids and Montero for the first leg i remember.
