2. They have a core team of homegrown talent in Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, Valdes, Messi (raised in Argentina, nurtured in Catalonia)
3. In Xavi and Iniesta, they have undoubtedly the best midfield partnership in the World, possibly the best I've seen in my time watching football. Mobility, strength, vision, passing ability, skill, and telepathic understanding. And even more importantly - Messi, Xavi and Iniesta, despite their physical slightness DO NOT DIVE.
4. They play football the way it should be played
5. Even their shirt sponsor Unicef is admirable
6. They were the first team in 2 years who finally put United - who are an exceptional team in their own right - in their place
The only negatives about this team are:
1. In Danny Alves and Carlos Puyol, they have 2 of the biggest play actors in Football
2. The Catalan press and majority of Barcelona fans are unbearable (I imagine not a single one of them complained after being hammered for 10 minutes at the start and then fortunately scoring on their sole attack of the game. If it had been the otherway around, I can only imagine the OUTRAGE)
The positives far outway the negatives -
Best side in Europe, and probably the World. Will take some stopping next season
