I read the comparison in Marca too this morning, and disagreed with the author there. Let me post my thoughts:

Valdes < Casillas
Alves > Ramos
Puyol = Pepe
Pique > Albiol
Abidal = Arbeloa
Toure > Lass
Xavi > Xabi Alonso
Iniesta = Kaka
Messi > Ronaldo
Henry > Raul
Ibrahimovic = Benzema

Casillas the only RM player better than his Barcelona equivalent...and there's no bias in any of those comparisons

Zlatan = Benzema

Seriously what has Benzema done so far except sign for Real.. he hardly has been scoring freely in France.. something like 17 last season no??

Now I don't particularly rate Pique that highly I think he wil be like Marquez was. I don't rate Abidal that much either and I think that if Pep gets the best out of Maxwell Barca has a clear advantage there. Ibrahimovic against Benzema is hard because they are going to perform different roles. Tactically I can't see Ibra working out but he is the better player at the moment but Benzema could become better in the near future. Henry raised his level last year but still don't think he is that great and im guesing Pepe didn't either with the brief hunt for Ribery.
Regarding the Cech vs Valdes I no longer think Cech comes on top. I agree they are equal because Valdes has steadly become better each year.

The only problem with this is that it does not take into account the team "fit" and dynamics. The above Juve team is better than Inter in the midfield+attack on a combined basis, but one-2-one they are not.

Of course Ibra is better than Benzema, but this latter is 21 and Ibra 27. Benzema still has a long way to go but he'll be an ace in a few years.

Let's see if he won't have too much pressure at Madrid. b.t.w last year was a bad season for him and for Lyon (Fred hadn't been replaced, the manager changing formations all the time). This explains his dissapointing scoring rate.

I am not doubting his quality. But this is supposed to be a comparison of the players now, not what they might do in a few years
