    FOOTBALL cheers is back.

    Saturday, 15 August 2009
    Aston Villa v Wigan, 15:00
    Blackburn v Man City, 15:00
    Bolton v Sunderland, 15:00
    Chelsea v Hull, 12:45
    Everton v Arsenal, 17:30
    Portsmouth v Fulham, 15:00
    Stoke v Burnley, 15:00
    Wolverhampton v West Ham, 15:00

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Sunday, 16 August 2009
    Man Utd v Birmingham, 13:30
    Tottenham v Liverpool, 16:00

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just over 1 week to go before the madness begins. As usual Chelsea and United start with an easy home game. Arsenal and Liverpool have very tricky opening games, Everton usually have a poor start to the season and Liverpool never hit the ground running either with last season being an exception due to a bit of late Torres magic.

The City Galacticos are away to Hughes' old side and I can't see it being straight forward for them, what line up will they play? that's anyone's guess, making fantasy football all the more difficult for Kas.

    Bring it on! <Ale>

I'd like to see a 4-3-3. Bosingwa in for Ivanovic.
    Anelka, Drogba, Kalou up front.
As much as I like Ballack I think this game is set up perfectly for Deco.

Well it wouldnt be terrible would it, i mean its away for a start, plus we have a new team and a few injuries, Onuoha, Richards, Tevez and Bellamy all just coming back and Santa Cruz and Johnson out, so it wouldnt be terrible, im not saying it would be great. Still im confident we can win.

Diaby not being fit is wonderful.

Wenger went on record to say after the Emirates Cup that 4-3-3 will pretty much be our formation for the season.

    I expect to see:

    -----------------------Song---------Denilson--------------------------

    -----------------------------Cesc---------------------

    --------Bendtner----------RVP----------------Arshavin--------------

I'd prefer Eduardo to start though which would see RVP play in his strongest position on the right hand side.

Hopefully Man City thump Blackburn today, though I have no confidence in Hughes and have no idea how they'll make a workable formation with all there players. If they have to draw, hopefully it's at least 3-3, really don't need pundits gloating this early about how they were right that Man City should have bought more defenders when they've only managed to score 1 goal.

    ----------------Green------------

    Faubert---Gabbidon---Upson---Ilunga

    ------Parker---Noble---Collison-----

    Dyer--------------------------------Jimenez

    --------------- ---Cole------------------

Will be something like that. Pace in abundance down the wings. A strong 3 man centre midfield...to deal with Wolves. They'll try and break through the middle, as I think our wings and full baks will be too strong/quick for them. I think our midfield can deal with theirs. They have a lovely big pitch, which will help sides who play football along the ground. I can see a win here for us...hopefully.

Prediction: Wolves 0-2 West Ham. Ale.

How's Faubert as RB? Is that L.Neill thing still dragging on?

    ---

    For Villa, I'm expecting:

    Friedel
    Beye-Davies-Cuellar-Shorey
    Milner-ReoCoker-Delph-Young
    Carew-Agbonlahor

Subs: Guzan, Clark, Lichaj, Sidwell, Gardner, Albrighton, Fonz

Heskey's suspended (some bullshit thing from a friendly Rolling Eyes ); L.Young, Bouma, Downing and possibly Petrov injured.

But if Petrov fit, he'll start ahead of Reo or Delph.

Deano - it is so hard for clubs to find athletic full backs with decent footballing ability nowadays - even the big 4.

I think Ilunga was a great signing from this point of view - he's not a world beater but for the money you have to spend he's as good as you can get.

I think Zola's intricate, footballing style works best when you have plenty in the middle of the pitch - any chance that he would play a narrow midfield and play Faubert at RB or is he going to be RM ?
