After a long summer in which Suarez ruled South America, people pretended to enjoy tennis, lrd went to prison and Saints hung himself PREMIER LEAGUE FOOTBALL is back.

There's been big money spent on transfers, mainly by Liverpool, United and City whilst others (ARSENAL FOOTBALL CLUB) haven't improved on what they had but instead kept their key players thus far.

We welcome QPR, Norwich and Swansea to the league and hope they give us as much ruddy fun as Blackpool did.

Glenn will have a variety of hilarious usernames each containing the unit 'Glenn' in them.

The first set of fixtures doesn't have a lot to get excited about but never the less, I'm still EXCITED and you should be too.

Martin Jol's Fulham are a lot of people's pick for surprise package of the season and they start at home to newly promoted Villa, Bent is likely to score in this game.

Liverpool look set to finally claim number 19 after shipping out Konchesky and Jovanovic but Poulsen sadly remains to battle it out with Spearing and Jonjo Shelvey. New signing Jordan Henderson is most people's tip for signing of the summer at a bargain price of £16 million, or if you want to look at it another way, the total valuation of Everton's football team.

Spurrrrrs vs Everton is perhaps the pick of the fixtures - 'Arry has been busy in recent weeks promoting a new Sky Sports fantasy football game and giving a half-time interview to ITV at the Everton vs Villareal pre-season friendly. Spuds fans may be dissapointed that they haven't got in a good striker but Bale and VDV are super stars who will send fear running through the veins of top European clubs like Hearts, Hapoel Tel-Aviv and FC Nordsjaelland.

Newcastle have had a crisis this summer but Kimbo isn't worried - N'Zogbia and Cabaye are more than enough improvement to secure another season of top-flight football. They host Arsenal who have had a pretty poor pre-season but will win in style because that's what Gunners fans pay the money to come and watch

Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City will also be involved in the first set of fixtures.

FOOTBALL

It's great England kicks off so early in August, I hate having to wait so long for la liga to get going.

Don't know where to post this, but all London events, including Carling Cup matches i.e. West Ham vs Aldershot have been postponed due to the rioting.

If the Government can't clear this mess up by Friday then we're really fucked as a Nation. I'd imagine some of the London games are in trouble at the moment but don't see why it would have an effect on the rest.

Clubs in major cities playing at home this weekend (PL and Championship)

London - Fulham, Spurs, QPR, Millwall, Palace, Watford.

Birmingham - Brum, West Brom

I won't be surprised if London clubs' games are postponed. Metropolitan Police are not in a state to cope with this.

Premier League have said they'll review the London games on Thursday but at this point see no reason why none-London games wont go ahead.

That's 3 games majorly in doubt then.

Tottenham's Premier League match against Everton on Saturday has been postponed because of the riots in London.

No doubt more will follow.

I'd imagine only the other London games are in doubt but the rest will go ahead IMO.

All none-premier League games in the capital to go ahead this weekend Davey Cameron's just said which means the games outside of London are definitely going to be on.

I can't wait for Saturday, bring the footy on!

I cant wait for it to start now, although how tired i got doing the Poznan last week indicates ive lost my fitness over the summer hopefully i will get chance to do it on monday and return to match fitness.

Aguero should be fit to start and im looking forward to seeing him, it obviously a game we must win but i dont think it will be easy as most most will expect cos Swansea are a decent side, solid and pass it well, but hopefully we will have too much for them and get off to a winning start.

Is it just me that thinks "the poznan" is the shittest thing i've ever seen? I'd rather you just waved more inflatable banana's.

We only do it when the scums team is read out and after we have scored normally, so dont know how we look bored.

Well fair enough but im glad our owners keep our prices reasonable and cant imagine not following my team even if it means making sacrifices financially elsewhere, that's just me though.

Surely the point of money is to spend what you can on yourself? If Goater can afford it then good for him. Nothing quite like going to watch live..I do miss it, I just cant justify the price myself anymore.

What goater does with his money is his business, personally I like to hoard it. I'm prudent, I think it is a virtue, others like my dad say I am tight as a fishes backside.

I agree that the prices have made it hard for a lot of people to go now. I'll probably only get to 3 or 4 games this season on my part-time wages but I think all proper fans of a club should at least try and get to one game a season, even if it's a cup game.
