Dyer is looking like a new player, almost scored from a cheeky backheel.

There's no way a defensive trident that combines the calamity and error prone defending of Dunne, Toure's excellent reactions, athleticism and last ditch defending but terrible organising skills and Given's ability to control the area will challenge for the title as LRD thinks. Combine that with Micah Richards complete lack of positioning...

The thing is Hughes knows he needs to buy a defence. Dunne wont be starting many games when they get a better defender in. Given well god knows. Richards is not a bad RB.

Sure. But i doubt any club will be willing to sell such a high profile so close to the beginning of the season - not giving them any time to find a replacement. Moyes won't be selling Lescott. By the time they are able to bring in a replacement, theyll be too far adrift.

Dunne is the worst defender in the world. The man is fucking stupid, the Lee Cattermole of centrehalves. You can see why they're so desperate to get Lescott.

Well they are winning today and money talks they'll get someone decent. Lescott may have to wait till january when Jagielka is fit. Would Chelsea really say no if they offered 15-20 for Alex?

Lescott wouldn't help a lot. He's better at poaching goals from corners than he is at organising a defence.
