Is Chelsea likeable again?

now they aren't spending the fortunes they did a few seasons ago that made them everyone's favourite hate club
now they seem to have a humble and respectful manager
now they aren't quite as successful anymore

are they actually likeable again?

They are stale. Same players. Same style. Same celebrations. Same interviews.

Terry likeable? nope.
Lampard...nope
Mikel....hell no
Drogba...nope.
Ballack....No.

Overall not for me.

They've never been likeable since Abramovich. I hate their fucking guts, and i'm pretty sure every other fan who supports a London club will agree.

Not really: They still have the likes of Drogba and Terry. They still have Kenyon in charge. They still have an irritating habit of releasing official club statements about every small thing in the press.

That said, now that Mourinho's gone they're no more hate-able in certain aspects than other big clubs in certain aspects.

1. The summer isn't over, they're could be a big money purchase, i.e. Pato.

2. I suppose the last humble and respectful manager they had was Jose Mourinho, and that was a while ago now.

3. Arent successful? They could have won the title two seasons ago, and have made the Final and semi final in consecutive CL campaigns.

Not really.

They play rigid boring football. They spent 200 millions pounds in 2 summers, whilst wiping away an awful lot of debt and consequently winning 2 titles with again boring unaspiring football.

Theses things doesn't change over time, no matter how "unsuccesfull" they're now...

Plus they don't have any players that are likeable, apart from perhaps J.Cole...

I never got why everyone hated Chelsea its not like Arsenal and Spurs are so much more likeble then them!

As long as Terry remains the marquee face of the club, they're still extremely hateable.

I never particularly disliked them, mostly because their fans aren't all complete twats like the rest of the top four.

Getting rid of Ranieri was a big PR blow, but Mourinho was good for a laugh. They were very unlucky in the CL last year too.

They aren't? I didn't realise the other top 4 fans went around trashing the place whenever their team loses.

The premiership started to die when Chelsea were taken over, it was that that caused the situation the league is in right now.

Didn't have anything to do with clubs like Newcastle frequently breaking the WR transfer fee, thus inflating the whole football economy...

Doesn't really compare (to me).

Chelsea fans have a pretty big persecution complex themselves, especially after the barca match. Healthy amount of arrogance to boot. They are more than just a few scumbags. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near Stamford Bridge after a bad result - definitely doesnt compare to some of their fans being annoying when they phone into 606.

You want to go to small clubs in the North West if you want racist - not big clubs.

I wasn't being serious but Chelsea(Millwall apart) are the worst. I heard abuse they gave to Ade a couple seasons back. It wasn't just a select few either.

Lampard is definitely a likeable player IMO. Generally comes across well, and is obviously a fairly intelligent guy. Think he is an excellent midfielder and professional on the pitch as well.

Not sure Chelsea are particularly likeable in general though. Essien is popular amongst neutrals, not sure the same can be said for Drogba, Cole, Terry, Deco, Mikel etc.
