Imagine Michael owen getting in and watching MOTD last night - seeing his woeful performance under the watch of Capello followed by Defoe's hat-trick.

    * @ Saints - was that a "soft" penalty that United got last night ?

I mean, Evra had already passed the ball into the middle and was no longer in control of the ball ?

The Man. United squad does show signs of the Kleberson-Djemba years, when they went through a transition period with Ferguson buying loads of shite. But for me the major problem is Ferguson's team selections...he gets it wrong so often against smaller teams. Just can't read them correctly. It's happened in CL group games too.

Midfield of Park-Carrick-Anderson-Giggs? Why drop both Nani and Valencia...who's going to give Owen the service? Giggs is only good for cameos nowadays and Rooney can't create and stay up front as well.

Ferguson also needs to figure out just what he wants to do with Anderson, because it's been 2 seasons now and he still doesn't have a fixed position in the team. As for Park, I just don't see why people rate him...need somebody for a man-marking job? Sure, he might be your man. But need a proper winger who can create goals? No way.

Surprised more Man. Utd. fans aren't calling him out, instead of blaming just the players.

Why not? They aren't THAT good. A win against an out of form Liverpool, and a smashing of Hull! We played just as well as they did against Wolves. They are scoring goals but are conceding too. Our front line of Dyer, Jimenez and Cole was causing lots of problems. Cole is renound for playing up front on his own and that being one of his best positions. With Dyer and Jimenez to support everything went to plan at Molineux.

I'm not worried about playing them at all, at Upton Park. Will wack a nice some of money on us.

I think many people said these 4 were in crisis before the season begun, I know I did. Liverpool, Arsenal and Man Utd are considerably weaker than in previous seasons, Chelsea are an unknown quantity and will lose 4(?) first team regulars for a month. Sppppuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrs have the King/Woodgate factor, plus they STILL haven't signed a left winger.

From a Saints fan I think he has every right to protest it in fairness.

He's not looking at the player and is only looking up at the ball so theres no intent and according the laws of the game, ANY obstruction of the goalkeeper by an opposing player must result in a free kick for the defending team. I think it was just the fact that DJ is 6'5 and inevitably was going to land on top of Larsson and look like the agressor that swung it.

On the other hand James got the ball before the man and essentially took the player out and prevented a decent goalscoring opportunity. So I'd say the correct decision was made, I just don't think it was quite as clear cut as people might think.

David James is not a blind man. Even if he was looking up in the air he would still have known that Larsson was there. He knew what he was doing, but had assumed that all goalkeepers get the decisions when contact is made by them..he failed this time.
