AV vs Arsenal should be a good match. Is it just me or does it really seem that the West Ham vs Pompey match could turn into a ugly affair, since most of their 1st team is missing the match and it looks like they could name only 3 subs.

Post by Di Caniooooo! Tue Jan 26, 2010 6:06 am

Portsmouth's player crisis has plunged to new depths with the club facing the prospect of only being able to name three substitutes for Tuesday's vital Premier League clash with West Ham.

The cash-strapped side fielded only five of the seven subs allowed in their FA Cup win over Sunderland on Saturday and injuries to Michael Brown and Papa Bouba Diop have added manager Avram Grant’s woes.

Grant named 17-year-old Lennard Sowah among the subs in the 2-1 win but will not call on other youth teamers simply to fill the bench.

Pompey cannot bring in emergency loans due to a transfer embargo and they have four players who have been on duty in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Tommy Smith may be back but Jamie O’Hara has returned to Spurs after his loan deal expired and Mike Williamson will not feature because he is in talks with Newcastle.

Well, pompey is going down, and that idiot predictor on BBC predicts a 2-1 pompey win, the fool.

Sounds like a disgracefully poor game at Wolves so far, don't know why we are playing 2 holding mids with no ability to spread a ball out wide, sounds like rafa bottled not leaving Gerrard on the bench.

Yup yawnfest at Wolves. Home side had a little more urgency, but not much quality, Liverpool not really looking much up for it. Probably a single goal will win it..

Channel 4 is a great stream on this

Lucas has been even worse than usual today. A few smart subs from Rafa and we'll win this but I won't be getting my hopes up that he'll oblige.

What is this crap TS and fellow clowns spout about Huddlestone? Laughing The dude gave it away countless times, and when he gets ahead of the ball takes 10 years to get back. England? fuck off if Spurs want regular top 4 they need better than him. He does the odd good thing but seriously not impressed. Modric is quality though. Totally classy player. Bale playing well also.

2109: If John Utaka really is on £80,000-a-week, it's the most disgusting waste of money in the history of football. He gives the ball away and just stands there as West Ham play it through to Frank Nouble, the striker's shot saved by Asmir Begovic. I'd be embarrassed to earn that if I was Utaka.

I think Dirk had a shot which flew into row Z. I may be wrong though.

It amazes me that Rafa still keeps picking the same players expecting things to change, as if the past few months of Carra/Insua/Lucas/Kuyt/Mascherano have been but a dream and suddenly they will develop some footballing talent.

Yet again Rafa baffles everyone by taking off Riera who was our best player tonight and reverting to the tried, tested and totally failed midfield of
    Kuyt....Mascha...Lucas...Out of position player (# 200)
