or will have no future because of the coach

    a. friedrich
    frings
ballack (hopefully not, he can play in 2012)
klose ( i think he will play in 2012, at least in the squad)
    enke

i think our team can look like this in 2012:

    -----neuer
    beck-mertesacker-höwedes/tasci/boateng-lahm
    ----kedhira-ballack
    --schweinsteiger-özil
    ---poldi----gomez

this team could easily look like this in the next wc, so there is not a real big change in the future

For England, you'd have to think it's finally the end for Beckham.

David James will turn 40 just after World Cup, so that seems a neat time to call it a day.

Next oldest are Heskey and Lampard, who'll be 32. Lampard will stay around a couple more years; might be the end for Heskey.

This year will also probably determine whether Owen will ever play for England again.

    Some possibilities....

France: Gallas surely will be finished at the WC. Henry and Vieira if they aren't already finished. Anelka might carry on through 2012.

Spain: Capdevila for sure, maybe Marchena, really the Spain team is quite young. Puyol is 31 but he'll probably be in the mix through 2012.

Brasil: Lucio, Gilberto Silva, I think Ronaldo may yet win a call up before the WC but that would surely be his curtain call.

Argentina: The argies are pretty young too. Heinze and Samuel (if he's not already done) won't be back in the team. This is probably the last call for Veron and Riquelme if they somehow make it to the WC.

Gallas is class, he can still continue till next Euros. I'd expect Henry to retire after this WC, and I hope he'd do something about his record if we ever make it into the finals (Fingers crossed). We got likes of Karim, Gignac, etc developing for the 2012Euros. Vieira is finished.

Let's hope so. I've been hoping that he never gets a call up after every international tournament (since euro 2004) yet he keeps getting called up. pale

He is another of those cases where I don't know what they get picked just like Heinze. Allthough at least he was actually good at one point while Camoranesi has always been gash.

    Question

Hasn't Samuel been absent from Maradona's last few squads?

He missed the last one because of injury, but before that he was in the squad, though he still hasn't played any minutes under Maradona.

Does Senna have a chance of going to World Cup? If so it will probably be his last and he is getting on and will be three years older by next EC.

Hopefully Asamoah Gyan has already played his last for Ghana. Stephen Appiah if he makes it will probably retire after World Cup. He was playing for Ghana even without a club.

Hope Aboutreika carries on until at least the next ACN after Angola. There will be a few others in Africa too, but a bit will depend on qualification and tournament. Some heads will roll and a few will be undeserved.

Even Eto'o could be on way out of national team, but much depends on African football politics. They have to play against 12 each time - the twelfth is their FAs.

Isn't he a Spanish citizen? If so, Senor Senna should never be allowed to play for anyone but Spain. Wink

what's all this talk about Senna, Axe?
He won the European Championships with Spain last year!

why he should have been allowed to play for Spain is another matter. I don't think he should have. I am not aware of any of his parents having a Spanish background, I think he only lived in Spain for a few years until he became a Spanish citizen. It is apparently not that difficult in Spain especially if you come from Latin America.
