Ribery is the closest it gets to a Carzola-type role in Pellegrini's team. However, Robben's dribbling, and magical lobs will be missed. He also has the X factor.

Robben is the best dribbler in world football for me and causes the opposition all sorts of trouble when he runs at them. Instead we're going to get a player who runs down the left flank and cuts in all the time. Geez.

Our only hope is Robben reject the move...

I think that once again, it's been made clear that Florentino is an arrogant c**t who is trying to get rid of as many Calderon signings as possible. If we get Ribery it won't be such a bad move, but at the same time, why go through all the hassle of selling a very talented player in order to buy one who isn't any better and will need to adapt? Not only that, but the club would likely have to pay 15-20 million more than what Robben is sold for.

If Ribery isn't signed then it will clearly show that Florentino and Valdano haven't learned anything. I can see future Florentino comments like "I didn't think we needed Robben since we had Cristiano, we didn't need Sneijder because we had Kaka", etc. Just like "We didn't need Ronaldinho because we had Zidane, we didn't need Eto because we had Ronaldo"...

Never trust the germans. They might swindle Perez and co. easily into overpaying for Ribery while losing a well-set player in the process.

Apparently Ribery will join next summer, not this.

Real Madrid will be found out very quickly next season, all our attacking player play through the middle. Teams will just park the bus and play on the counter.

It's not so much Perez being a conte, but he wants to raise the €100m he intended to from the beginning. So last season we only had the one winger in the team, and this season we end with half a winger.

But why not sell Gago for 15 million for example? We could have flogged him to Patetico for that amount. Then we could have sold Drenthe for 5-10 million.

But of course, these players while Calderon signings, don't risk stealing the spotlight. Robben was showing to be much better than Cristiano Ronaldo in pre-season, which probably caused Florentino to cream his pants.

Instead now we're stuck with 3 DMs and 3 LBs

Anyway, latest from MD is that Madrid are still working on the deal - they are trying to include VDV as well, and it would also involve Ribery coming the other way.

There was a report that Robben's father/agent started sounding off how much the club would sell his son for. So it's not entirely the doing of Perez and Valdano. If Robben really means what he said he can refuse the move easily, especially for the fact that apparently he has won Pellegrini over and become a part of his plan (albeit as a supersub) unlike the midget and the fatty.

It may not come to anyting and turn out thatthe media is trying to hype it up before the busiest day (next Monday). And if it is true and Robben leaves we cannot say for sure if that is a bad deal until the season is over, the same as if other deals, such as those for Kaka and CuntRonaldo, are good or bad.

One thing for sure is that the move, if happens, is good for Robben's father.

Well, Sneijder rejected Inter as well. But then the club treated him like an endangered servant and even had another player wear his number before he was even sold. Something similar could have been done with Gago but of course Valdano wouldn't do that with one of his country mates.

And I have nothing against Gago, I think he's a quality player. But given squad needs + amounts we could have gotten for players I just don't understand how Sneijder and Robben were considered to be more expandable.

Stupid of Real to sell him. Despite being injury prone and a c**t, he is real quality, he can make the difference against any opposition.

Bayern obviously want to switch to 4-3-3. With Ribery and Robben on both flanks feeding their strikers, their attack could be absolutely devastating, if they click that is.

They still need to invest in the defence though, the priorities don't seem right.

I wonder whether Ribery playing for France and getting injured while he was not supposed to play has to do with these rumors. Bayern would definitively win getting Robben & V.D.V plus some cash for Ribery. It would be a stupid deal, a bit similar to Eto'o & Ibra deal.
