Re: Messi to Inter Milan?
Messi won't move from Barca for another 3-4 Years. Eventually he'll end up in Serie A.

Re: Messi to Inter Milan?
I could envisage such a move.
If it happens in a year or two, it will be up with Ronaldo to Inter milan, and Maradona to Napoli. Not saying Messi is in their level already, but it'd be considered a 'premature' move..

Moratti has been "after" Messi for 4 years now, and has always stated that Inter will be his next destination.... I think it will happen, but only once this cycle of success is over at Barca... My guess is 3-5 years from now, which is fine coz Messi is very young.
Messi has been my fav player outside of Inter for a while now, so I would love to see him in blue and black...

Re: Messi to Inter Milan?
Although he's a better player than Ronaldo, he's probably less marketable because he's a quiet and humble person and arguably not as good looking. So the transfer fee would be only slightly higher IMO. Maybe 85-90m, something big enough to break the symbolic "most expensive player in the world" barrier.
But Inter are forgetting that they may have to deal with this:

For players like Messi & Kaka, they will get top dollar at any club, so they are more likely to decide from their heart rather than get influenced by a few million more.... If Messi leaves Barca at some point, I am quite certain he will come to Inter...

Re: Messi to Inter Milan?
Messi has the potential to be one of the best players in the world, why wouldn't a big club like Inter be interested in him? He's only 22 and it's probably best he stays where he is for now because he's getting first team football, but in 2 or 3 years Inter would be a great move for him.

Messi's interest in joining Inter would also be dependent on Inter's ability to mount serious challenges in the CL. Something that Inter has failed to do for a long time now

Even Chelsea who were a CL team before Abramovich came along have only signed 5 "superstars" in the last 6-7 seasons, it'll be the same for City.

I thought we're talking about (at least) a 3-4 year time period here?
If Barry, Ireland, Adebayor and co. do their jobs properly, Man. City will be up there as a possible destination by the time Messi moves from Barça.

Not sure Moratti is willing to spend the money like he did 10 years ago.
If Mourinho is still coach, he might veto it (he stopped the move for Cassano this year).

Coz Messi is Argie. We are Inter, home to Argies. Moratti loves him. And also coz he has said so in the past, that if he ever leaves Barca, he would love to play for Inter.

Re: Messi to Inter Milan?
Yes, for that to happen Inter need to do well in the C.L. One day Messi might get tired of wearing a barcelona shirt, not tired because he is fed up, but more because he would have won everything with them so a new challenge could be tempting.

knowing how poor we are at selling players, I wouldn't even be surprised if that was all we'd get for him.

In the current state Milan are in, I would be surprised if we get any decent players before Berlusconi leaves the club.

There is an element of truth to what others are saying. The only way Messi would ever consider coming to Inter is if they actually win in Europe or put together consistent runs over a few years. With this team I think it is possible.
But the bigger problem is Serie A's attraction, which, in my opinion, is on the wane.
