ugh, nothing positive to take from that defeat, maybe Agger getting through 90 minutes. When I first saw Aurelio 10 years or so ago he was the ultimate wing-back, I think he's a bit old for that position now. Sunderland look good, Bent and Ken Gwyn Jones are a nice pairing, and they have a cheeky little squad, their team today cost more than ours surprisingly. Could have done with them having a player sent off or a late own goal but nevermind.
Winning goal was a bit of a freak but Sunderland could have had 3 or 4 if not for Reina.
I wonder if Rafa will question the referee's fitness to distract attention from this poor performance. Spearing is too small, substitutions were too late. With such a small, young squad we really can't afford all these injuries.
