Rooney: 43 CL games / 12 goals / 4 assists




mario gomez: 10 cl games / 3 goals / 2 assists

podolski: 11 cl games / 3 goals / 1 assists

kuranyi: 16/5/1

klose: 32 cl games / 12 goals / 5 assists

Do it for the last 3 years only and see what you get Ozil. Also take away sub appearences. Unlike German teams Man Utd win the groups early, and Rooney comes on for a 20 minute kickabout at the end of some games.

is wiki trustworthy these days then? Ive had 'issues' with some of their stats in the past, but i guess Rooney is pretty highprofile so it cant be far off...
50-16 isnt that bad. 1in3 (ish)

Because Rooney wasn't gifted a single penalty in World Cup qualifying, and still outscored the rest of Europe.

People who appreciate Rooney's talents know that he's not a player to be judged on goals alone anyway. By the end of the season, Darren Bent may outscore Rooney, but people who know their football would take Rooney over Bent any day, week, month or year.

So Ozil can keep piping on about stats, but we all know Rooney is clearly a better allround footballer than Klose or Poodleski. Not even worthy of warranting a comparison with Gomez.

And the day Peru produce a player anywhere near Rooney's level, you might actually stop coming last in qualifying

lahm can play on both wings, that makes him not allround footballer, hes doing the same stuff on both side (yeah on the right hes weaker)

ballack is a central midfielder, yeah you could say is a complete


for me allround footballers are footballers, they dont know his position, because they dont have the quality on just one position to make them irreplacable
