Did they "let us back" into the game? Did they? Did they?
No, the ref did. Defoe was even waiting for the ref to disallow it.
Also he shouldn't be on the pitch.
2 footed tackle against Caldwell = yellow
Raising his hands to Caldwell = yellow
Disrupting the freekick = yellow
So we got lucky.
It's about fecking time - we've dicked on teams in the past this season and yet had NO luck, and also been on the end of some shit decisions, not least Defoe's goal at Anfield.

1722: Back under way at Wigan 0-1 Tottenham. On BBC Radio 5 live, they said they were showing replays of Jermain Defoe's goal on the screens at half-time and one Wigan fan was so disgusted he threw his pie at the telly. It splattered all over the place, apparently. Haha.

Decent result for 'pool but I hear a shit performance.
I felt before today that if they avoided defeat they would prbably get 4th.
Home to Burnley is a gimme and Villa have Palace before the cup final so will be knackered - Spurs won't last the course.

A joke of a game, Huddlestone, like Defoe, gets away with not being sent off and Wigan don't punish Gomes when he made a stupid fumble. Wigan had fuck all on the left wing, it was a major weakness for them.

should it be allowed to have a rugby team playing on the same pitch as an EPL team?

Double for Pav which is awesome. Might make Redknapp stop being a stubborn twat and start to play him. With Lennon back next week they are in a great position to kick on you just hope they don't shoot themselves in the ass again.

I think you've got me mixed up with TS- he's the one with the Given agenda
I have never been Gomes' biggest fan, but he's certainly a fabulous shotstopper. Prone to the odd gaff of course, thankfully not nearly as many as his first season

Crouch has been pretty much USELESS in the past 2 months, and on top of that we play predictable football when he's on the pitch and there is no Lennon to get to the byline.
It's time Redknapp realise if Lennon ain't playing, then Crouch is pointless as all the crosses and balls coming to him are from deep, and he's shit in the air.
I'd like to see Pav start now in his place. Something has to be done. Before Pav came on we were only leading because of a blatant offside goal.
Not good enough. 'Arry needs to know this or there is NO chance in hell of 4th

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp: "Great performance from us today in difficult conditions on a difficult pitch. The first goal being offside doesn't bother me at all. It was great that Pav got those two goals at the end. When he wants to play and wants to work he's a top-class player."
Russian footballers are, by all accounts, lazy c**ts (Arshavin and Pav appear to have this in common)
Pav should be as fresh as a daisy now though, so really Redknapp should forget whatever has gone on before and play him for the rest of the season. Crouch looks spent

Just got back from freezing cold, sleet filled Manchester. Wasn't really worth the trip but I'm happy with the point even though I felt the game was there for the taking. Unfortunately Rafa decided to completely drop Ngog, the only striker who can hold a football up for longer than a second without losing it. Kuyt and Babel attempting to do that today was laughable.
Fantastic to see Torres and Yossi back, hopefully one or even both can start next week vs Blackburn which will give us far more attacking threat.
Mascherano was outstanding today, good to see one player who still plays his heart out every week at this club, the rest have pretty much given up on the season.
Although City didn't cause much of a threat we got lucky with a few sloppy mistakes today - Agger and Lucas were guilty of misplacing the ball and getting us into trouble. If we had done that against Chelsea etc we would have been beaten for sure.
Both teams lacked their key attacking players from the start - Bellamy and Tevez for them and Torres and Benayoun for us so wasn't a surprise to see such a poor game with few chances for either side.
It hasn't helped that Spurs and Villa have won comfortably either and even Everton look like they could sneak up on us but I think we should be ok if we keep battling at home and getting points then remaining fairly solid away and adding more attacking players to the mix once they're fit.

In fairness Lulu, Skrtel was excellent. My MOTM. Looked back to his best and dominated Ade for the most part.
Himself and Masch were the only positives really.

Yeah, can't argue with that.
Our defence isn't the problem, it's the sluggish, slow, midfield, no movement, lack of attacking threat and lack of team wave length. The amount of times we gave the ball away was ridiculous.
I just don't know what the fuck Babel gives us, he can't play up top to save his life and he's a very average winger as well.
Maxi was piss poor as well.

The entire midfield is the problem. Aside from Mascherano doing the defensive side of his job brilliantly the rest of the players do not have a clue how to play football and I cannot see this changing under Rafa because his love for Lucas and Kuyt is all consuming. Movement is the biggest issue and is the reason Aquilani and Maxi haven't fitted into the team. They can't fit in because the sort of shite Kuyt and Lucas produce is alien to the football they are used to playing.
As soon as Alonso was sold this was the fear about how our midfield would turn out this season. I expected Aquilani to be able to overcome some of this loss but Rafa's love for Lucas and lack of faith in Aquilani has ended that hope.
As for Dirk, if he isn't in a team where all the other players are doing all the creating (as was the case for us last year) his limitations just get brutally exposed.
I've said it a thousand times this season, we won't get better until these two (or at the very least one of them) are permanently removed as starters in the team. They are simply too clueless in possession and ruin every attack we have.
Babel has barely had a look in this season. He is the last person to blame for the shit we are putting up with. I am seriously beginning to think the only solution to this is getting rid of Rafa. How else are we going to get rid of Lucas and Dirk ?

As said before it's hard to to judge Maxi atm cause we are playing utter shite.
I'll reserve judgement for now.
Babel was diabolical yet again. If people want to slate Lucas, Kuyt, Maxi for today fair enough. They were all poor as was Gerrard btw. But this clown was just as bad if not worse. The others you know give their all more often than not but not Babel. He put in some effort at the beginning, like 15 minutes but reverted back to his selfish, non tracking back, can't excute a simple 5 yard pass, gutless, lazy ways.
I was comparing him to A. Johnson today, and while Johnson was a mixed bag himself, but he worked himself into the ground and showed some flashes of brilliance. As well as being able control a ball and never shied away despite the odd misplaced pass. I'd take Johnson over Babel without any hesitation.

Didnt really get to see any of the City - Pool game..
How was Jinky today? Good or looking out of his depth? Talksport guy said he was City's best player but I tend not to trust them.
Also I am utterly amazed that Liverpool didnt score a goal today, despite dropping their match winning goal scorer from a few nights ago. What are the odds of that?

Our build up play is okay, but we dont do anything when we get deep in to the opponents half.
Like you said no movement, no quick or sisscor like runs, just boring get into there half and play a square pass/hoof
Seems that Babel has "potential" but he's not showing it at Liverpool, Babel "looking Dangerous" and having an occasional good shot isn't good enough. we should have sold him to Birmingham.
Macsherano is a fucking God he always plays well. Wouldn't be suprised if he left in the summer and we get Relegated

He was very active, always looking for a ball, not afraid to attack a defence. But as all other players today he was lacking a final product (including his set pieces delivery), he also is a pretty damm annoying diver.borocooper wrote:Didnt really get to see any of the City - Pool game..

You mean the guy who hasn't scored an away goal all season Coop. Yep he was just guaranteed to bang them in today
Jinky was City's only decent attacking player. They defended well, as did we but that is more a result of how bad the two managers managing the teams are at the minute at setting up attacking teams.
He looks a constant threat but haven't got a clue what his end product is like yet. He may be another lennon or he may be another SWP. For City's sake lets hope it is the former.

His end product is pretty average, there are games where everything he hits is spot on..but others where he's terrible. He'll never have as good an end product as Downing but he'll definitely be the biggest star and a better dribbler.
The diving thing..thats started creeping in more and more. It did disgust me, he got a lot of stick off our fans for that.

Better to have someone who has actually scored a goal lately on the pitch..that someone who hasnt.
