Unfortunately, goals are pretty much the only way of measuring these things, so I think this would be a fair assumption.

The other two usual suspects - Ronaldo and Kaka, are not having great seasons by their standards.

If Villa were playing for a CL club, I'd put him up there too. Phenomenal scoring rate for Spain, and his La Liga tally isn't too shabby either.

Ronaldo is having good season even though he was out of two months 22 goals in 22 games. One trick you are so silly LOL

As for Kaka why is still consider as one of the best this isn't 2007 we are nearly half way into 2010.

He was unplayable from 2004-2007 but during 06-07 when Sheva left Kaka stepped up but you are right Seedorf was very key.

Shit example, Rooney has been performing at the highest level for years now, this season has just been is breakout season in the goals for column.

Like how is was messi's breakout season last year and ronaldo's the season before that, it terms of goals scored.

The Bojan example is just terrible, considering both Messi and Rooney have played important roles for their club at CL level, and also internationally. It's not like either is a new face on the scene, suddenly coming out of nowhere and unproven.
