Yes it is, but they didn't deserve to win by 2 goals, they scored 3rd goal from an offiside and Barca should have a penalty. Deserved and lucky at the same time.COTR #6 wrote:Rosicky wrote:Inter are disgracefully lucky this CL season.

Well I count one offside goal and (at least) one clear pen not been given.
At 2-1 Barca would be massive favourite, at 3-1 its definitely Inters to lose.

They had what, three ? incorrect offside decisions against them in the first half which could have led to goals
The Alves dive was no pen
The Pique incident was a handball before the foul
Barca got exactly what they deserved tonight

Well done Inter, Barca need a change of approach for the second leg, Bojan has to play IMO. Where is Iniesta?

3-1 was offside and Barca had a good penalty call. But Inter got what it deserved tonight.
Anyway the final conclusion can be read in Kas's essay next morning, make sure you have some coffee with it.

Re: Internazionale vs Barcelona
It's quite a difference between situations which could have led to a goals and scoring from an offside position. And nobody saw any Pique's handball in this situation, besides you.COTR #6 wrote:Rosicky wrote:COTR #6 wrote:Rosicky wrote:Inter are disgracefully lucky this CL season.

Two wrong offsides given in the first half, that kinda balances the offide goal.
As for that "penalty", pls look at the replay. The ref got that spot on!!!

I always wanted to see Barca do it v Chelsea, United, 'pool or Inter.
Milito is bizarre - before he joined I thought great finisher but his all round game isn't good enough. He was the complete opposite tonight.

Re: Internazionale vs Barcelona
- Congrats Inter on finally winning the CL, congrats Mourinho on another CL. Well played tonight, a near perfect game (though I felt the Chelsea 2nd leg was more impressive).
- This match proved why nobody wins the CL back to back: the motivation required for any team is too difficult. This game reminded me of the CL final last year, but in reverse:
Barça this time were like the relaxed fat cat (Man. Utd. last time), who'd "been there done it", but were too calm and didn't bring their best game. On the other hand, Inter were so much more hungry and wanted it more, and their desperation brought out the best in their game in terms of both sharpness and quality.
- Barça were just very poor in all aspects of the field...gave the ball away easily. And the offside trap is like blood to the vampire that is the Sneijder-Milito connection, esp. with the former's excellent one touch forward passes. Sneijder definitely MOTM IMO.
- Xavi was ineffective but not because he was marked out of the game by Inter, but because throughout the 90 mins they ensured that all his passing options were always blocked.
- Ibrahimovic put in one of the worst individual performances I've seen for some time. He talks the talk and pretends he's cocky, but fails to impose himself on a big game. Get out there and get involved man!
- Most significantly for Inter, the offside Milito goal and the non-penalty call for Sneijder's foul on Alves late on are the perfect omens that they will win the CL. I also felt that a lot of 50-50 calls went Inter's way.
Any team that has won it in recent years, got a big chunk of luck and decisions going their way: Mourinho with Porto in 2004, Barça against Milan in 2006, Barça against Chelsea last year, etc.
But let me go on record to say that I don't think these decisions changed the overall result. Inter would have still found a way to win tonight. They eased off and shut down the game after the 3-1.
One note for Inter: if you want to be great, don't be cowards. This especially goes out to Julio Cesar and his timewasting from as early as the 54th minute
- No way are Barça going to win by 2 goals in the 2nd leg. By all means put in 100% effort and go for it, but they better not f@ck up the league now.

Re: Internazionale vs Barcelona
We are talking about Pique incident, not Alves. Lucio or Samuel just run over Pique inside the box, when he had a ball under control and tried to turn.bluenine wrote:Rosicky wrote:COTR #6 wrote:Rosicky wrote:Inter are disgracefully lucky this CL season.

It's incredible but I've just watched Midget vs Alves incident 10 more times... and still I'm wondering how in the hell Sneider didn't foul Alves there. But still don't see a contact...
