    £18m + Steven Ireland.

Seriously good deal money-wise, although am sad to see Milner go.

Hopefully Ireland will have a point to prove to City & go back to the player he was the season before last.

    ok

I think Ireland will be good for you. He was great two years ago. Will probably add more creativity than Milner.

Extremely good dealing by Villa ok

They'll be laughing all the way to the bank cheers

It won't be long until City officially add this motto to their emblem : "More money than sense, since 2008" Laugh

Im happy with it, you wanted £30m and we have ended up paying £18m plus Ireland who cost us nothing. Im gutted to see Ireland go he has great potential but his heads gone and he just cant seem to perform. I hope a change of club will rejuvenate him and he doesnt just decline as he has massive potential. I think Milner will be class for us prove a great signing.

Sorry mate, but this is a poor transfer... Milner is a decent player, but no way is he worth anywhere around that. Assuming Ireland was worth £7m, that puts Milner at £25m! IMO you paid double of what he is worth. I know money is not a concern at City, but IMO Mancio has wasted quite a bit here. It will only add to the pressure.

Ozil went for £12m, Veloso for about £10m, Hernanes £7m.... some other transfers that happened this summer, makes the £25m for Milner look even more crazy!

Rip-off it may be, but I bet Milner is ultimately far more of a success for City than Silva or Balotelli who cost similar Ale

Oh dont get me wrong mate we've paid over the odds but we normally have to as we are so rich, i meant considering what they wanted i think we have done ok. TBH id value Ozil well over £12m. The thing im happy with is what Milner will add to the squad, i think he is a great player and will do very very well.

According to the Guardian, the fee is actually around 23m pounds plus Ireland, which makes it an even worse transfer in terms of value for money. But it's normal for City's circumstances.

I don't agree with your comparative examples though:

Ozil had just 1 year on his contract.

Hernanes at 7m is actually overpriced IMO considering there's a lot of hype about him but he hasn't proved anything yet.

Veloso's transfer fee looks low because Zapater was part of the deal.

Also, it's obvious that the likes of Genoa and Lazio will pay less for a player than City. If City wanted Veloso, the fee would have been something like 15m plus Ireland, or for Hernanes it would be 12-14m, etc.

Veloso price of about £10m included the Zapater transfer (£5m plus Zapatar). IMO its more or less the right price for the player. The reason it looks low in this context is coz £25m for Milner is a bit ridiculous.

Depends who you believe as a lot are reporting £16m and Ireland, no way would it be £23m plus him !
