Deserved win by Holland, but Japan again did better than I expected (based mostly on their warm ups games) - they will have their chances against Denmark, especially if Denmark will tie a game against Cameroon later today.

I think it will be Kuyt, even though now VDV out doesn't seem that bad of an idea.TM wrote:@ DD

I still can't decide whether the Netherlands are just warming up and getting results, or actually a bit shit.

Well, having fully expected the Dutch to tear us a new one, it's not a bad result going into the match vs Denmark (against who btw I think we'll struggle more than we did this afternoon). Good volley from Sneijder for the Dutch goal but Kawashima should have saved it. Okubo the best player for us. Nakamura not the sub to make when you're chasing the match and I don't know what Morimoto has done to be kept on the bench.

Their football is lacking any kind of flair and adventure. When Robben gets back I'm sure that will return.

Proving you can play defensively without having to resort to anti-football.

Dissapointing and getting results. Our entire front four are underperforming. Hence no flair.kas wrote:I still can't decide whether the Netherlands are just warming up and getting results, or actually a bit shit.

We're shite & already we're winning. We'll shift gear when it gets serious. Our play will improve dramatically with Robben for VDv (or preferably midget).
Last 2 matches have been the worst when it comes to our passing game. Dunno how much the pitch affects this. But it seems, a few aren't in top shape (yet).

Can't believe I came out of bed for this shite, Holland are even worse then I thought. Seriously those gooks deserved something from this game. Football is about entertaining, this is not. I cant believe how Italians and Germans could watch this for years upon years!

terrible game... skip vdv he always walk off line. perhaps swap kuyt and v persie if it doesn't work..
with elia and robben we get our creativity this team needs.
MOtM Mark van Bommel BY FAR... he showed again he is the big leader of this team. I wasn't a big Bommel fan but how he plays this world cup is truely amazing.
So far we control the games which is exactly a good thing. Again a win and again nil goals against. So far the defence of the dutch looks the strongest of the tournament.

Watched Holland today reminded me a bit of England last night. RVP like Rooney doesn't seem to be ready for the world cup. Japan were unlucky really. Maybe Robben will help still strange how a shite defence on paper keeps so many clean sheets.

The difference is that the warning signs were there with Rooney, he finished the domestic season looking jaded and was disappointing throughout the warm-up games. Van Persie was in reasonable form coming back from injury for Arsenal, looked sharp and was playing intelligently for the Dutch, and then has produced two disappointing performances at the tournament. A real shame but there is still plenty of time for improvement (for RVP at least).

Well Rooney against i think sunderland was one of the last few games, he set Berbatov up for about 4 tap ins and played fantastic. But in the world cup the added pressure and expectation and the other teams being so much more up for it and fit while you're not in your groove yet it shows. I think both could still pull something out of the bag but it maybe isnt that surprising they're struggling at the moment. Warm up games are just not the same.

Fuck off with your van Persie hate you feuckgin c**ts! he led the line well today and apart from a poor touch, was someone the midfielders to. He also assisted midgets goal. :le:

Pre-match tactics on TV look awkward - A.Song as RM with Geremi in the middle, and Gronkaer as part of a 3 CM, with Tomasson as right winger.
Is it only on my TV, or vuvuzels are extremely loud?
