    bernd

Britain, almost by definition, is a MONGREL lot

just like the USA and Brazil

    France a lot less so

you always see that when "new" politicians conquer the bigger stage and their bio+family histories are mulled over

Duncan Smith ends up being related to Tolstoy

Boris de Pfeffel is partly Turkish

Michael Howard a Latvian (or whatever) Jew

    Portillo is Spanish

and more recently, Nick Clegg turns out to be Dutch-Russian....

    even Churchill was half-american

only your current PM is aLL British

    as for yourself Whistle

so being a mongrel lot, you are open for other, new foreigners

whereas, the Frogs , possibly a lot less so

it also depends to a large degree which country the immigrants come from

Arabs tend to be a lot more difficult than Eastern Europeans

in Germany, the "Turks", "Greeks", "Arabs" and "Italians" mostly do their own thing

whereas , the Eastern Europeans are perfectly happy to integrate themselves

even the Vietnamese blend in seamlessly these days Smile

I call Ekotto odious because there is a tone to his cynical remarks (as with his ones about "I don't like football, it's only a job") which suggests that his is the natural/normal way of thinking – almost as if he's lecturing everyone else from his ignorant, bitter perspective about how "you can't be black/non-white and properly French", when France, for all its horrendous problems with race and integration, has a proud history of successful assimilation and colour being an irrelevance. I can only speculate what a Patrick Vieira or Zinédine Zidane thinks about that.

I've got a good Parisian mate with a Cameroonian father whom he never really knew who was shocked and appalled by BAE and Bassong's comments. It's important to recognize that theirs is not "the majority view". There are big problems with the elite and with racism in France but the professional issues don't only apply to ethnic minorities and with the Arabs it's a two-way street, methinks.

Meanwhile what does my head in about London is the ghettoization within the superficial cosmopolitanism. It's not just about the blacks who play for their country whose colour is thankfully now an irrelevance.

("Jen's" book Otto? That metrosexualized already? I can pick it up on Amazon for €9 plus postage, or when next in Schland – probably asking a bit much to get others to do my shopping for me Wink )

    Ale

I wonder what Dirk would make of Khedira, Özil , Boateng, Poldi.... NOT singing THE anthem

    Yikes

    -------------

    good stuff also from Jens

    in Die Bibel

the Schalke bound lad points out that during the 2006 World Cup Klinsi's fitness instructors would make them WORK

    ALL the time

even the day after a game

    but he concludes

"das war kein viewöchiges Freudenfest, sondern KNALLHARTE ARBEIT"

    Our REWARD:

the touching minutes before the game, SINGING the NATIONAL ANTHEM

and the moments after a win, celebrating"

    lol!

so , the reward is NOT to play in front of 70.000 fans

    but

    SINGING THE ANTHEM

    Laugh cheers Hug

by the looks of their names , it's fair to assume the majority will NOT sing the anthem

meanwhile, Larry Bird, the NBA legend, says that what he admires most about DIRK is his

    cheers

    funnily

the other German sports-stars that congratulated Dirk or commented on his success and often even said it inspired them

    have names like

was the lad not the captain of OUR German U-21 once ?

    meanwhile,

a player I have GREAT hopes for also seems to be flirting with leaving the Mannschaft fold

Bellarabi, now at Leverkusen, and a German U-player with a Moroccan father, I believe

had a chat with Morocco manager Gerets

blut's BELOVED U-17 team, currently kicking arse in Mexico

    could indeed be(come) mostly/partly TURKISH

according to the chief Turkey FA talent scout, who spends most of his time in Germany, persuading the likes of Alintop, Sahin, Ekici... to play under the half-mooned flag

2 to 3 of those "German" wonderboys have already promised him to play for the SENIOR Turkish side EVENTUALLY

    http://www.sport1.de/de/fussball/fussball_dfbteam/newspage_427487.html

    Yikes

    Sammer, predictably, is incensed

so yet again, fey "joking" that "Turkey" have reached the U-17 semis

may not be far off the mark

    Yikes

    ---------------

    meanwhile

I just discovered that WErder player Boenisch, is now playing for POLAND Yikes

I just remembered him as a GERMAN U-player

but apparently, even when playing for GERMANY , he always really just dreamed of playing for Poland anyway Yikes

    from wiki

    International career

He also made his under-21 international debut in 2007. The Polish-born player[2] hesitated whether to cap for his native country, or Germany, saying on 8 June 2009: "I have always wanted to play for Poland, I talked about it before Euro 2008.[3] But I am not interested in playing for Poland B, or the youth team." Later, there were rumors that Boenisch would receive a call up from Leo Beenhakker for the match against Greece but he was not listed in the official call ups.[4][5] Boenisch said that he was not interested in capping for Poland anymore, and was concentrating on playing for the German U-21 team. In November 2009, there were rumors that Poland's new national football team coach Franciszek Smuda was interested in the player but Boenisch said that he had made no decision.[6] Due to lack chances for a future call up to the German senior squad, on August 20 Boenisch finally decided to play for Poland and has received his first call up for matches against Ukraine and Australia[7] two caps that do however not exclude him from playing for the German national team because the fixtures in question where not UEFA or FIFA competitive matches.

Smuda called him up for two friendly matches vs Ukraine and Australia in September 2010.[8]

    ------------

the GERMAN Mannschaft shirt has now OFFICIALLY become an international JOKE

as disposable and changeable as a club shirt

we HAVE to bring those kids into the MANNSCHAFT FOLD

    EMOTIONALLY

hence the importance of singing the anthem Ale

I would also force them to swear an ALLEGIANCE to

    a) the German FLAG

    b) LUTHER's bible

    c) Faust

    d) the German OAK

    then

I would force them to enroll in a falconry course, using a GERMAN EAGLE though

    and FINALLY

EVERY new recruit to the Mannschaft fold, would have to SEDUCE 12 blonde, blue-eyed Teuton beauties

to climb up the Zugspitze with them

Erdal Keser talks a lot of shit, that's a well known fact. It his job basically. He knows damn well that the best / most promising players decide to play for Germany. This is the norm now, Sahin (who made this decision more than 5 years ago) is the exception.

Besides, this parasitic approach to international football won't pay off for Turkey and other countries. Poland is actually worse, they are even recruiting players like Polanski who had publically declared that he roots for Germany when both countries play each other. He only switched because he simply wasn't good enough to play for Germany. A lot of them can't even speak the language, conflicts between them and the 'natives' are guaranteed. Instead of investing in their own youth (where are the Turkish, Polish, you name them, youth teams in these tournaments?) and reaping long term benefits, these FAs are looking for a quick fix. They will fail, no doubt about it.

. They will fail, no doubt about it.

    there is NOT just Sahin

    there is also Ekici

the latest recruit, whom Schaaf rates HIGHER than Özil, when he joined Werder

why do you say, it will FAIL, it won't pay off ? scratch

    imagine a team with

Sahin, Ekici and Samed Yesil, Emre Can + Koray Günter

    +

a few Turks from Holland and God knows where

in fact, however big the talent of Yesil, Can and Co may be

they will still have MASSIVE competition from the "German" talents

of whom we now have MANY

Draxler, Götze, Hummels, Wollscheid, ter Stegen...

    they are popping up everywhere

and at some point, the "Turks" will realise that their VERY ambitious family members and advisors want more than the DFB can deliver

already, Tasci will wonder whether he chose the right country, and soon, Gündogan could get the odd international cap and the get dropped

    and THEN what ?

the IMPATIENT family members will push the Cans, Yesils into the arms of the Turkish FA faster than you can say

    Döner

    Neutral

which brings me back to my original point

you have to get those "foreigners" involved EMOTIONALLY

if you have a better idea than singing the anthem or indulging in a bit of falconry, feel free to share it

    cheers

    incidentally

I believe that Werder signing Wolf is an ETHNIC Russian

who knows, he could still play for Putin Ale

    +

watch out for MERKEL, the Milan/Genoa midfielder

one or two good seasons and he will get IMPATIENT as well

    or rather, his FATHER

who seems to be the driving force behind his flirtations with Mother Russia

Both Sahin and Ekici decided from a very early age that they wanted to play for the country of their parents, which of course is their right. They didn't need to be 'convinced' by the likes of Keser. That's a completely different matter than youngsters representing Germany in international competitions like these, probably even winning silver ware, being 'convinced' to switch. Those who are good enough for Germany, no matter what their background is, don't switch allegiance, simple as. What used to be the exception back in the day, especially when it comes to talents with Turkish roots, is the norm today. That's a fact otto, no matter all your fearmongering. You even have examples for the other way around these days.

P.S.: Schaaf didn't say that he rates Ekici higher than Özil, which would be silly as the latter is clearly more talented, but that he is more mature and established than Özil was when he joined us, which is simply true (Ekici had a great season for Nürnberg as a starter, Özil back then was just a squad player for Schalke; he's older, too). The nuances otto, nuances.

Holtby will come to rue his decision to play for Germany. When this tidal wave of German talents comes to the fore, he'll wish he took his father's advice and joined the ranks of Huddlestone, Wilshere and Co. in the challenge of making England great. Instead, like a shelf packer at Sainsbury's, he's likely to find his position taken up by a kebab muncher

Or he won't be a coward (which he isn't - he can't switch anymore), work on his game and become so good that he'll have a place in the squad at the very least, which he will. And hence increase his chances tenfold to win silver ware with a team that has a tradition of winning.

Not to mention that he was born and raised here, learned to play football here, and hence is incompatible to the English way of things...

Sounds like Michael Owen's reasons for joining Man United.

Good luck to him being remembered as the face no one can quite place who gets a medal for keeping the kit bags warm on the bench.

Meanwhile he misses out on spearheading another period of glorious failure; poignant shots of his fine facial Anglo-Saxon bone structure overcome with anguish, splashed across news centres world wide, bleeding hearts coming together to mourn yet another epic shakespearian tragedy, weeping girls weak at the knees and seeking to comfort these fallen heroes in white, those red and white knights in shorts, showing their frail humanity in the face of evil robotic efficiency (guess who by the way). And in the process, becoming a poster boy and marketers dream, the boy from the dark side who turned his back on the overwhelming power of the evil empire and took his chances with the rebel alliance fighting to survive and ultimately regain what is rightfully theirs but was so cruelly taken from them.

He will come to rue it, mark my words. I mean, "Holtby" - he couldn't be ANYMORE English

You know what German heart is? The awareness of the opposition team that they've only beaten us when they have taken their showers and sitting in their bus on the way home, because we can always come back before that. Germany invented 'never say die', everyone else copied it from us!

German heart is to be motivated by all the negativity and hatred shown to you, to go to the lion's den and win. To create something beautiful out of something ugly.

I'm sorry Noah und der Bale, but to suggest that Germans don't have hearts is typical of the insular and ignorant mentality that many people here in England hold about our European neighbours. It's ludicrous to suggest they don't have hearts - of course they do! Cruel, unfeeling hearts with a core of pure evil, but hearts nonetheless.

Blut, to save yourself the time and effort in the future of writing everything positive that Germany invented, would you be able to prepare a short list of good things that the Germans didn't invent (if there is indeed anything that would populate such a list)?

There is a lot of good things Germans didn't invent. But I'll tell you something entirely different, German as I am.

What Germans absolutely can't do is drive their beloved cars when it's hot, or even a bit warm. They turn into complete utter idiots. It took me over 4 hours to the verbotene Stadt today, a trip that usually takes 1- 1 1/2h. The reason was a larger accident, so they had to completely close the Autobahn, leading to a 16km traffic jam with no escape in sight. Listening to the radio, I was totally shocked by the number of accidents on a sunny day like this. Some Geisterfahrer in Bremen, a mason who had 'forgotten' his tools in the middle of the road, traffic jams everywhere. And people in front and behind me driving like brainless zombies.

So in short, Germans can't take heat. They moan all day about the weather, but if they had Italy's or Spain's weather, they would have started 27 world wars by now.

the next 3 years will ALSO be a WASTE

    @blut

you did not really answer my ORIGINAL point

we now have so many talents in the Vaterland: 100% ethnic-German, partly ethnic-German, non-ethnic Germans...

that MOST of them will NOT have a lasting career in the Mannschaft

there are only 24 places in the squad and 11 in the team

the Gündogans of this world will have to think REAL HARD whether they want to take the gamble to play for Germany maybe only 5-10 times, when really they could get 100 caps for Turkey

ask Marko Marin whether he would play for Germany AGAIN

over the coming years there will be MANY casualties like Marin, Tasci,...

and EVENTUALLY the Turkish...scouts will find recruitment VERY EASY

the BEST ethnic Turkish Germans will EVENTUALLY consider their "parents'" home-countries to be VERY attractive

when really, they currently dream of doing an Özil

    ie

the Turko-German U-17 wonderboys in Mexico could all play for TURKEY within two to three years once they see what happened to Gündogan/Marin/Tasci

compared to Ekici, Sahin, KP Boateng, Polanski...

    PREDICTION time

in 3-4 years somebody in the DFB will say EXACTLY what Blanc said

    behind closed doors

"we have a problem with BI-NATIONALS"

and THE question in German football will then be why and how we have failed to TIE those multi-ethnic talents to Germany EMOTIONALLY

where and how integration has failed

    pale

    wahre G

    think about it

I actually did otto, but I'll do it again. Those who are good enough to play for Germany, and the benchmark is pretty high these days indeed, will play for us. If a player believes that the competition is too tough and shys away from the challenge, he isn't the right one anyway.

Yes, it's going to be very tough to become a German international or even starter in future, and remain in the team. But that's only positive for German football. Do you think it's any different in Spain? Or Brazil? If anything, that only increases the prestige of being a Nationalspieler, like it used to be in the good old days, something special and very desireable.

No shame in that. They stopped running our trains the other week because the temperatures touched 30C and it was too hot for the power-lines to work. So 'good' weather now joins rainy, windy, autumnal, wintery, etc., weather in being too challenging for our railway operators to work. Rolling Eyes

    .

if only it was THAT easy

whether you play for the Mannschaft (or any other TOP team) or not is not (necessarily) a question of whether you are "good enough" AT ALL

    now , innit ?

    coaches have PREFERENCES, even PREJUDICES

    Löw likes lady-boys and Ja-Sager

    Magath likes experienced CHARACTERS

Sammer would go for a mix

YOU dream of strengthening our U-21 with kids from the U-19 and U-17: for the SENIOR Mannschaft

and MY "Deutschland" would feature Wiese, Nowotny, Wörns, Frings, Ballack and Völler up front

when Kloppo takes over the Mannschaft in three years, it will be top-heavy with Dortmund players like , even, Schmelzer and Grosskotz

if you put Rangnick in charge in three years, Höwedes and Draxler would probably feature

    player selection is 100% subjective

how many managers, for instance, would have stuck with Poldi and Klose over Gomez ?

and it's the "Spaniard" who is an EXCELLENT example of having to be at the right place at the right time

Germany now play with ONE striker and THAT spot has been BLOCKED for YEARS by Klose

in other words, IRRESPECTIVE of how GOOD you are, if your place is taken and the chap in front of you has the support of the skipper

    TOUGH LUCK

considering the sheer WEALTH of talents of now have, many EXCELLENT players will NOT get a FOOT in the door, and at BEST sit on the MANNSCHAFT bench

eg: these are some of our OFFENSIVE midfield TALENTS for the future

Müller, Götze, Schürrle, Holtby, Gündogan, Draxler, Merkel, Grosskotz, Kroos, Marin, Sam, Gebhardt, Leitner, Holtby Bellarabi, Sukuta-Pasu, Ben-Hatira, Can, Reus...

MANY excellent players, even one or two considered to be the BEST in their positions by SOME, will NOT make it

    ie

they will QUICKLY look elsewhere , when they have the option

driven on by foreign FAs (scouts), their own AGENTS, families...

they will opt out of the Mannschaft fold in DROVES

if THE call does not come fast ENOUGH

do the Cans, Yesils... of the world have the SAME PATIENCE that GOMEZ had, I wonder though ?

    CAN and YESIL and GÜNTER

must have players for germany, me wonders if they have ever seen turkey for real^^

agree, without a perspective they may leave, but the DFB is smart enough to do whatever it costs to keep the best

schweinsteiger will be 31 when CAN is 21, enough time to play for germany Very Happy

give them a chance in a friendly and the problem is solved, he did the same with holtby Wink
