It's great news for Arsenal and England, less so for their opponents."

Is this c**t honestly trying to suggest that Wilshere is underrated?

    Doh

I imagines he means globally. Everyone was talking about Messi when he was not even in the Barcelona first team.

In comparison, Wilshere certainly hasn't received anywhere near that level of hype. Which is actually a very good thing.

Speaking of good academies - the Southampton one is a good un. Thanks for giving us Mr Bale, Saints. We paid 5 million at the time. For a 17 year old. Looking like money well spent

Sure, but even at that point it was abundantly clear Messi was something special. Wilshere is promising, but he's never going to be in that class of player.

I dunno, do you read the tabloids? For the most part they think Wilshere is the future of the England team all by himself, completely oblivious to the fact that his only England appearance to date saw him commit a bad foul and give the ball away.

I think you ended up paying about 8 million, but if Denilson is worth that much then Bale's worth approximately what Barca paid for Ibrahimovic. Glad he went to your lot though, if he'd gone to Arsenal he'd probably have broken his leg by now.

I think it's supposed to be an investigation into what is wrong with our set-up compared to other nations, that's what i gathered from an interview i read from Lineker somewhere, or it could just be an excuse show. If it is the former then it's a good idea, even if the title is silly.

Kevin. Davies. What in the what? Should've been Carroll or Jerome.

Defence looks generally ropey. Lescott ain't been playing, Ferdinand is due another injury any minute, Johnson is seriously off-form, Warnock's been iffy..RB is definitely looking a problem position.

Midfield is mostly alright, although why SWP keeps getting picked is unknown. Should give his spot to Albrighton Wink And J.Cole has hardly made much of a claim for being picked this season. At least Carrick isn't there (though I might have to start revising opinion on him if these worrying rumours of Houllier wanting to sign him come to anything).

Think we're relying on Bent and A.Johnson to win this one.

Oh and Robert Green should surely be banned from England national duty for the rest of time.

I know there ain't many choices, but there's got to be someone better.

Carson at least has been playing okay at club level (though by rights he should be banned too). That dude at Blackpool perhaps, or that one at Fulham Erm

Spurs have a good young keeper called Button, was on loan at Shrewsbury last year, Plymouth this year. Hopefully he'll continue to progress.

Rolling Eyes i don't see why we can't just play Milner at RB. His qualities are more suited to that position than the others in the squad.

cheers Hopefully he gets in the team. Wilshire is still too young to start so many games but he's definitely better than the other options. Huddlestone and Wilshire could be a very promising CM partnership. i would like to see Barton given another try for England. I've always rated his qualities but he went a bit crazy for a while. He seems to be putting out good professional performances for Newcastle now.

Why the fuck does SWP still get in the squad?!!
ST: Darren Bent (Sunderland), Peter Crouch (Tottenham Hotspur), Kevin Davies (Bolton Wanderers), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)
Considering Rooney's form, that's probably the worst striker line-up I've ever seen for England...

Pretty dreadful squad, though as least Montenegro are weak enough that even Don Coveryourassello should start Tubblestone and give Wilshere another opportunity to give the ball away.

Wingers I can think of in some kind of form:

    1.Johnson
    2.Lennon
    3.Young
    4.Walcott
    5.Etherington
    6.Albrighton
    7.Downing
    8.Routledge
    9.Jarvis
    10.Pennant

Probably forgotten some. And he still picks Wright Phillips. WHY?

Given the squad, I'd like to see:

    Hart
    G.Johnson(no choice)-Jagielka-Terry( Grr )-A.Cole
    THudd-Barry
    A.Young-Gerrard-A.Johnson
    Bent

Rooney needs to remember how to play football and being dropped for England might wake him up. Ferdinand shouldn't be picked till he plays at least 8 games in a row for Utd. Although maybe there's a case of putting Jagielka RB and Terry-Ferdinand in the middle, so as to remove the defensive black hole that is Glen Johnson.

    Kevin davies Shocked

When he is fit Nicky Maynard should get in - attributes are more important than club form (decent club form in this country can be a result of pace and work rate but no skill).

I hear Wilshere "excelled" yesterday - thought he was decent but no more than that and he probably shouldn't be in teh seniors.

Jinky plus 10 randoms should beat 90% of national teams mind you.

Neil Harris overlooked again Rolling Eyes

Apparently it was a close call between Kevin Davies and Carl Cort.

It's a depressing sign of the times that his inclusion will surprise few, long gone are the days when we had the likes of Les Ferdinand, Stan Collymore or Robbie Fowler as our 7th choice striker.

If we're going to take someone for a joke or not to play them we should be looking at Connor Wickham for the future or Marlon Harewood for a laugh.

I reckon he picks Wright-Phillips as a defensive winger. You can stick him on either wing and he will track back and close that flank. It's the only thing I have seen him do well, and the only thing I can think of to even remotely justify his inclusion.

I would quite like Terry far away from the team. Cahill, Shawcross, Turner, there are a few young defenders in that mould that can be brought in and given games to take that spot.

I'd rather have seen Albrighton called up..at least he's playing and impressing.

Yet this little dwarf c**t who isnt even getting in his club side(picking on form eh? Dick.) is in there again. WIll probably come on as sub at some point too.
