I think Cesar and Messi will win their categories... for the defender and midfielder, anyone can win it. I hope its Maicon and Sneijder, but anyone can win those.

On another note, I am a bit shocked not to see Schwieni not nominated... perhaps its time they split the midfield into 2 categories, like it is for most teams in the modern game.

I think you think he did so in the World Cup too, which puts your view in perspective.

No he didn't, not for Bayern in the CL at least. I haven't seen them at Bundesliga, so cannot comment on that.... In the CL, Schweini was immense. I would pick him even over Robben on those performances. IMO in CL 2009-10, the 3 best players were Schweini, Sneijder and Messi, not necessarily in that order.

If they only have 3 nominations I don't see a problem with the ones there.

They have Inter's best midfielder, Bayern's best midfielder, and the generally accepted best midfielder around at the moment.

but yes you have a point with regards to messi, so that drops schweini and van bommel further down the list away from the top 3 midifelders

its true the midfield position deserves two categorys, it is simply the most important area in a team
