Nani cost Utd the win with that penalty. Surely should've been Scholes the way everything been going for him recently

Great use of subs there by Hughes - Gera, whose been on fire in pre season, brought off the bench with 90 minutes on the clock, whilst Jonathan Greening comes on earlier, then off again.
He's just lucky he's inherited a squad of tightly knit, clever players with real spirit.

What about Stockdale? Came very close to saving the OG and actually saved the penalty.
Since when do keepers get praise for almost saving shots - or were you being sarcastic?

Don't think Hughes will change much. Fulham are a good side and play some nice stuff - will be hard to beat, at Craven Cottage especially.

Poor manager, the players are still playing Hodgson's game with Hodgson's tactics. Hughes will ruin them over time...Noah and the Bale wrote:Great use of subs there by Hughes - Gera, whose been on fire in pre season, brought off the bench with 90 minutes on the clock, whilst Jonathan Greening comes on earlier, then off again.

What a great game that was. The Premier League has been very good indeed so far. Some brilliant goals, drama, surprises and great footballing moves.
So many pissed pens already this season as well, crazy.

Sweet
Seeing Hangeland head that in is one of the best feeelings one can ever experience.
Ji-Sung Park would have universally be seen as shit if he was playing for any underachieving club - Poor decision making in the final, little or no goal threat and absolutely no football skills.

Kind of game which would be good enough to watch even if it would end 0:0, but it had so much more, with 4 goals, penalty saved, from zero to hero story, etc...

He looks pretty decent every time he is a go to guy for South Korea team, Liverpool fans can also say a few words about him not being a goal threat. The Professor wrote:

It was an error by TV producer, Greening finished the match, it was Davies who was replaced.Noah and the Bale wrote:Great use of subs there by Hughes - Gera, whose been on fire in pre season, brought off the bench with 90 minutes on the clock, whilst Jonathan Greening comes on earlier, then off again.

Both GK were really good today. Stockdale will get praise anyway because of the penalty save. BTW is Stockdale English? If he continues playing like this I see no reason why he shouldn't be in the England squad by the end of the season. Maybe even before then.debaser wrote:shazlx wrote:Credit to VDS for getting very close to saving both Fulham goals.

He is...good point! Can't say I've seen much of him, but he should definitely be ahead of Blackburn's 3rd choice youth keeper

I don't care what anyone says, today was a grudge match and it was fucking sweet! Sob on the Rea.
Enrique isn't really a FF player, you don't pick defenders on how good they are individually but on how many clean sheets their team i likely to get. But he's clearly a very good player, his performance today was normal for him.
Also i'm surprised that Carroll managed to score, Martin Samuel wrote an article writing him off after he missed that chance at old trafford. Fat fuck! He will have defenders scratching their heads, it'll be interesting to see what the likes of dirty Terry have up their sleaves.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1303682/MARTIN-SAMUEL-Andy-Carroll-chance-blew-Old-Trafford.html
Also Williamson is looking pretty comfortable so far, he's a very clean player, not a typical tall shithouse from the lower leagues. Campbell can stay eating jerk chicken on the bench for the time being.
Aston Villa were lunatics, stop coming down our left flank ffs, do you want to try and get past Jose Enrique or James bloody Perch?
Noah and the Bale wrote:Good luck to Newcastle. I hope they both stay up and do well. And I've got Jose Enrique in my FF team, based on Kimbo hyping him to the heavens. He better not let me down

Luis's Winners and losers so far this weekend:
Winners
Goalkeepers - they've redeemed themselves after last week's shambles. Foster, Jussi and Stockdale were the pick.
Chelsea - 12 goals and none conceded in 2 games is pretty damn impressive. They might have been playing the relegation candidates but they still showed they've got class. I can't see them conceding many this season.
Arsenal - On paper they shouldn't have enough to win the title but Wenger will be delighted with 4 points from the first two games, especially as they were very lacklustre last week against ten men. If they could add a bit more quality and experience to the midfield they would probably be Chelsea's closest rivals this season. I can see them falling short if they don't sign a decent goalkeeper.
Gareth Bale
What a goal. It will be hard for anything to top that this season. It seems as though 'Arry as struck gold with the transformation of the Welshman, he gives Spurs an attacking edge on both flanks which allows them to get results against teams like Stoke where they used to struggle.
Newcastle and Andy Caroll
Tipped to be one to watch this season and Caroll didn't dissapoint in Newcastle's first home game of the season; brilliant hold up play, great feet, confident, strong and a fantastic finisher. Capello must be considering him if he's to introduce a new crop of English talent.
Fulham
Craven Cottage is always a difficult place to go and they've managed to maintain their curse over United. A late own goal would usually be enough to deflate any team vs United but they kept on going and deserved their hard-fought point.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Losers
Referees
Chris Foy's look of utter hopelessness and clear farcical claim that he did not see if the ball was over the line from Walters summed up the declining ability of the so called 'top' referees in the English game. He not only missed a foul on Gomes but couldn't decide whether to give a goal, look for his linesman (who was in a far worse position to see) or do nothing - in the end he did the latter.
Walton was not much better during the course of the Fulham game in which he gave one of the softest penalties ever seen to United whilst moments before got a clear view of Vidic Pulling Moussa Dembele's shirt off in the box but not awarding a penalty. Justice was done in the end, as it sort of was in the Stoke game, but we need to be able to rely on accurate judgement of paid officials rather than fate.
Wigan
A toally shambolic start to the season. 10 goals conceded in 2 games with not even a consolation goal for the fans to shout about. Martinez may be the next Spaniard to be shipped out of the country.
Aston Villa
Oh dear. Things were looking so rosy last weekend, "no manager? Ah well, it's not so bad" they said as West Ham were turned over at Villa Park and James Milner said an emphatic goodbye. On today's evidence, he is going to be sorely missed. Ireland does not have the same defensive capabilities that Milner has and the midfield seemed disjointed and imbalanced. If Carew hadn't of lashed at his penalty like a mad man then things could have been a lot different but Villa weren't good enough today and they need time to pick themselves up from this.
Man United
Chasing Chelsea already. When Michael Owen comes on to try and save a game it must be cause for slight concern.
Richard Keys
"Paul Scholes has had a terrific season so far". I've had a terrific season so far, I got a handjob of my girlfriend this week but I can bet my life I wont be as lucky for the remaining 9 months.
