The Jose Mourinho Excuse tracker Empty The Jose Mourinho Excuse tracker

Post by fcb Mon Aug 30, 2010 1:03 pm

With just one matchday of the season gone, Mourinho's excuses and digs have already started to pile up. Let's use this thread to track them through the course of the season.

On Saturday was a special two-birds-with-one-stone dig at both Barça and the league's referees, with the following comment:

"Barça may have a very high quality squad, but they only play 11 men at a time, and often they play against 10 men"

After yesterday's 0-0 draw, he reportedly said "my squad is too large and too young" Laughing

Add to this the constant pleas for a big target man style striker, or what I like to call, an "escape clause". It looks like the club will deny him his wish.

There has also been lots of "my team needs time, they are not ready yet, we are not the finished product like Barcelona", etc. but we'll forgive him on this one because it's more fact than excuse, and you can't blame a Real Madrid manager when he repeats this particular footballing concept over and over and over again to his board and president, who haven't really seemed to have understood it over the past 7-8 years.

Well, now I'm sure he will say "Cristiano is missing for 2-3 weeks, how will Barcelona do without Messi for 2-3 weeks?"

Yup, lifted straight from the Pellegrini files, that one. Wonder if Marca will treat it as casually as when Pellegrini used it (even considering that 2 of these 2-3 weeks are an int'l break Rolling Eyes )

He's writing a piece on how 0-0s are a pretty good result.

It's not up yet because apparently he's still waiting for Rafa Benitez to proofread it and add some expert inputs.

Well it came as a surprise to me...never expected an attack featuring the 're-awakened' (see what I've done there) Benzema *and* Higuain *and* the breakout star of the World Cup *and* the boy-who's-so-good-he-went-from-almost-being-sent-on-loan-to-being-given-the-keys-to-the-team *and* of course, Him, to be kept scoreless by a bunch of islanders coached by a model from Super's dirty dreams.

If it happens again, you can bet a thread will be up Smile

So Inda eventually did a video blog on how a '9' is the only thing lacking to make the "Mou team" perfect Laugh

Can you imagine if it was Pellegrini in charge of the 0-0 on the first day of the season????? Inda would already be calling for him to be sacked.
