CL Round of 16: Madrid vs The Lions Empty CL Round of 16: Madrid vs The Lions

    Post by A & K Mon Dec 20, 2010 2:30 pm

I bet Madrid want to revenge their defeat of last year and with Mourinho in charge they probably will.

Lyon have been Madrid' darkhorse over the last 6-7 years and over the last 6 games it's been 0 victory 3 draws and 3 defeats so who knows.

Our team this year is shit and our manager even shitter. I hope it's his last year in charge. Puel has no charisma and is cold like fuck with the players.

Gourcuff has been injured most of the season and so has Lisandro, while Bastos has been rather shit. If these 3 players don't wake up one day, we are not going to qualify for the C.L next year and will get a several beating. As for our defense, I won't even bother talking about it.

There's no doubt we will be stronger in February, because we have been playing poorly but still managed to qualify for the round of 16, and after a good start (like Arsenal) with 3 wins the team lost its ability to kill games and win, and we still are fourth in the ligue 1.

I think, only if we can manage to get a good score at home (1-0) we might stand a little chance to win.

Of course Mourinho is no Pellegrini, and with Kedira, Di Maria, Ozil, Carvalho, ettttttttcccc the team is way more competitive. Last year, Madrid's comments were really arrogant and that's one of the main reasons why all the players were so pissed off and managed to do well.

Respect who ever you meet and stop being c**ts Ale

its true, no one hates BARCA, because they are really humble and respect the other teams, but really no one would love to see REAL winning the CL

all you hear from real are we are the best, thank god that changed a little after the 5:0 humiliation

the biggest c**t is ramos, 2nd is ronaldo, i mean it would be different when real would have anything done in the last 6 years of the CL, but it was fail after fail

i can see lyon winning, they can only improve, they have very good players; jose will fail anyway with real, because he cant play his typical football he used to play with chelsea and inter, and thats the only way to stop barca, barca will he his downfall

4-1 at St Etienne and now 4-0 against Nancy. S been a while since we won our games comfortably. Briand scored an amazing goal
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxRGnJVs8Io, quite similar as Rooney's. Gourcuff played well for once. Nothing better to boost confidence prior Tuesday's game. I don't know why Lisandro didn't play at all. There are rumors saying he injured himself stupidly by voluntering shooting a practice ball and hurting himself because he was pissed off something. I bet this is pure bulshit. We absolutely need him up front.

AS initially predicting the following lineup for tomorrow:

    ----------------Casillas

    S.Ramos-----Pepe-----Carvalho-----Arbeloa

    ------Lass-----Alonso-----Khedira

    Ozil-----------------------------Ronaldo

    --------------Adebayor

There is still the doubt as to whether Mourinho will maintain Sergio Ramos or play Arbeloa on the right and Marcelo on the left. Another variation is that Marcelo could play in midfield at the detriment of Khedira. Yet another possible twist is leaving Adebayor on the bench, playing Ronaldo as the '9' and going with Di Maria on the left.

Another note for the match, Ronaldo is one yellow card away from suspension.

Bayor's record against Lyon is bad. Even when he played for a strong Monaco side (with Guily, Evra, Morientes, etc). I only remember a consolation goal in a cup game defeat against Lyon. But then this Lyon side isn't even half as strong now and he plays for a stronger team. Should do okay. And he has improved a lot..

I was going to give them the benefit of the doubt and say that they're rusty after such a long winter break, but they really have been terrible. So many stray passes, and half of Chelsea's most promising attacks have come from Copenhagen passing straight to them. Plus, even Almunia would have got closer to Anelka's shot than their keeper!

Missed the beginning but it looks like nobody is really interested in taking a lot of chances. Ronaldo been completely invisible from what I've seen. Ozil and Khedira very regular. Di Maria been the best player at least he is trying to create some danger. Casillas nearly had a kodak moment luckily Gomis is rubbish!
