Spurs have no chance in the CL. This was a great chance for a cup.

I would take a semi final / final run in the CL over an FA Cup win. Only the final in the FA cup is vaguely interesting these days. Don't know if Spurs fans would feel the same. No reason why Spurs can't get past Milan then with luck of the draw you never know how far they could get.

I'm blaming the kit - we've played shit every time we've donned the sky blue.
And Redknapp is abysmal at rotation.
Dawson has lived up to the Donkey tag today. What a disaster.

Dembele is becoming one of my favourite players.
Belgium really should qualify for a major tournament soon. Have decent players in nearly every position.

Re: FA Cup weekend
What are the odds on Harry Redknapp's post match interview containing any of the following phrases:
'one of those days'?
'Fulham were t'riffic today'
'Hard place to come. Mark Hughes has done a really good job here. All credit to them.'
'I don't think we'll sign anyone, no.'
'when I got here we had 2pts from 8 games'
'I went for it in the 2nd half, I sent a striker on'
'Crouchy was excellent'

His general shitness has spread onto the rest of the side like a disease.
He was crap when he played the whole 2nd half anyway.

Re: FA Cup weekend
Spurs hit a bump today, They looked like they were to big for there boots add to this Dawson's display made for an utter disaster.
Man City were just as bad, they lack a game changer in midfield if Tevez plays its different in the middle they sucked and up front Dreko so far looks average hope he improves.

Re: FA Cup weekend
What did people think of the Dawson red card? It was given for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity, but did he? Dembele still got away from him and took a clean shot at goal. He might have been slightly better placed to shoot if he hadn't been fouled, but it was still a good position to score from. The referee was right to go back to give the penalty, but maybe the red card was harsh. If he had gone down under the initial foul then it would have been a red, but I guess it's one of the inconsistencies with the rules.

Re: FA Cup weekend
HA - we were shit yesterday. However, I laugh at my fellow Spurs fans (and this isn't aimed at TS, but another guy who was spouting off after the game yday) who were acting as though it was the end of the world.
That's the first time we've been beaten 4-0 since 2007. I'm actually surprised it's taken this long, because the DOWNSIDE of playing attacking football is you face the potential to get spanked on an off day. I'd rather we lost this game and continued to play entertaining football than reverted to defensive, negative football.
Being out of the FA cup is no loss either - 4th place in the league is the key goal. Plus a decent run in the CL. I'm actually glad we've gone out early if I'm honest.
Oh, and yes, our defense was shambolic. It is a slight worry, but I'm sure it won't be that bad again this season

Re: FA Cup weekend
Controversial moment towards the end of the 1st half - Ramires broke free and charged towards the Everton goal. Howard came off his line and didn't really get the ball, because Ramires made a good touch to take it away. But instead of jumping over Howard and continuing towards goal, Ramires did what most footballers do nowadays - dragged his feet so that he enforced contact with Howard's outstretched hand, and fell over, trying to "win" a penalty. Most refs would give the penalty, but Phil Dowd gave Ramires a yellow for diving instead.

It was the correct call IMO. You know you've had a boring first-half when one of the highlights was a player being ordered to the sidelines and having difficulty removing a ring from his finger.

Agreed. Ramires deserved to be penalized for being cowardly and going down, rather than continuing towards goal.
Chelsea went close with a couple of chances just now.

What happens if this game also ends in a draw - one more replay, or extra-time, or directly to penalties?

baines should play left midfield for england (because he will never play left fullback as long cahsley plays, because of his repuation), no wonder bayern wanted this guy, but he had no nuts to join bayern

Yup, extra time & penalties - And we're five mins + stoppage time away from that happening.
Good job for Chelsea that they play Copenhagen midweek and not one of the bigger clubs.

Everton have a goal correctly chalked off for offside after Fellaini was on hand to put away from close range as Cech spilled an initial drive from the edge of the box.
