If Spurs lose tomorrow they can kiss goodbye to a CL spot. All their dreams, everything they have spent(and worked) for over the past few years, shattered.

Well, at least we've still got to face Man Utd twice. But even if we win both of those games, we still need them to lose 2 others, which looks highly unlikely. I think we should just aim for a 2nd/3rd place finish and focus mainly on the Champions League.

That's true. Spurs have the fifth highest valued squad just barely behind Arsenal, and they've got a good cushion on sixth highest Liverpool.

I know you're very sensitive about the Torres situation at the moment. It's not surprising. You were telling us only 2 days ago that he did not want to leave Liverpool, so to see him leave must have been disappointing. Your behaviour reminds me of a person whose girlfriend has told him that she's leaving him for another man, so I'll keep this brief:

He's joined a team more than halfway through the season which is 10 points behind a team who are undefeated. He's joined a team which is in the Champions League (and can play unless you have cup-tied him in that second-rate European competition) and a team which can win the FA Cup for a 4th time in 5 seasons (although he's probably cup-tied for that too).

I'm sure he's more interested in trying to win the league next season.

Consodering they have to play Liverpool, Arsenal and ManC not forgetting their poor away form. They won't need to loose all those games. They've shown a predilection for draws so if they get enough draws it might be enough.

Not cool. It's fine to wish death on horrible human beings such as Fabregas, Rooney, Vidic, Gerrard, Nani, De Jong, Terry - but NOT the gangly genius No However many chances he misses, you should always recall a human freak doing a robot-dance on a football pitch and feel the hate slide away Hug

DB, you forgot to mention Gary Neville, Lumpard,Cashley, Shawcross, Phil Brown, Ferg, McLeish and Tony Pulis.

Fabregas is not a horrible human being. He is driven to act in a sometimes irritating manner by frustration - like tonight. He'd better be careful, he's been in ref's faces for two consecutive matches now and he'll likely get sent off next time he does it. Rolling Eyes

That was fun - in the end. Fucking ridiculous refereeing to allow Saha's goal to stand. You can't possibly allow that to stand as a goal. Even though it came off Koscielny it is scandalous to allow that because his touch was in trying to cut out a direct pass to a clearly offside player. Are the officials now saying that defenders shouldn't go for the ball if they suspect that an opposition player might be offside. I think the best that can be said about Mason was that he was completely incompetent throughout the match. Useless prick.

Anyway, not a very good game of football, but it was fun in the second half, and a great result for us in the end. The players did well and dug deep to rescue the match.

Indeed, my emotions and nerves were utterly and totally shot by the end – that's what it's all about. Could prove a crucial second half. Never seen a crowd heap such (deserved) abuse on a referee, and not just for the decision on the goal – when I initially saw the replay I thought the defender's touch might make it legitimate, but clearly not even by the letter of the law; even Moyes agreed it shouldn't have stood.

Was fearing you might have been brutally negative again SG ("not a very good game of football" indeed Laugh – sometimes things are more important...) but best to be positive in the circs I think – Everton nearly always give us a very good game (the 6-1 and 7-0 apart I guess, even the 4-1 a few seasons ago was very tough, so much so that Moyes had the nerve to claim the better team lost) and some very promising signs of a return to form from Andrei.

Part of the argument against video replays is it would ruin the fun of an entire crowd heaping abuse on an inept referee for his failed decisions, cruel as it is on a human level (but let's face it, likes of Webb, Dowd are not exactly humans). Righteous indignation is a drug Smiley

Oh good, a Kimbo inspired comment on our spending again. It passed me by that our main current rival for 4th just spent 71million on two players.

Or that Liverpool, who aren't even in the top 4, can offer players like Joe Cole and Luis Suarez the kind of wages that we simply cannot compete with.

And that our wage bill is not even top 6.

And that our squad VALUE is not the same as our squad cost.

What a DISASTER it'll be if we don't make the top 4, after having come 4th last season, against everyone's -including yours - prediction (look at the poll ran on here last season on who would finish in the top 4 out of us, Man City, Liverpool, Villa - I believe we came LAST Ale),

What a DISASTER we've been in Europe after everyone slagging us off for undervaluing the Europa League in the past.

Infact, what a DISASTER for a club having the ambition to try and become a CL side in general.

It's a fricking DISASTER being a Spurs fan right now I tell thee Yikes

Yeah, Spurs are a real underdog, David vs Goliath and all that.

Giuseppe Rossi - £35million bid was rejected
Phil Neville - £500,000 bid rejected and labelled 'offensive'
Luis Suarez - Reported that a £17million bid was rejected
Mirko Vucinic - Roma refused to sell the player
Alvaro Negredo - £17million bid rejected
Scott Parker - £6million bid rejected
Diego Forlan - £13million bid rejected
Andy Carroll - £23million bid rejected
David Beckham - Loan deal failed due to LA Galaxy's terms
Sergio Aguero - £38million bid rejected
Fernando Llorente - £25million bid rejected
Charlie Adam - failed to reach agreement before transfer deadline

How on earth did those bids for Rossi, Llorente, Aguero not get accepted?? It's insane money, and those clubs will never ever get such money for those players again!

Still its odd 'Arry couldnt find a striker with the budget he could spend. Must win game tonight for him though, otherwise 4th place looks like a stamford bridge too far.
