So 4 CBs, 2 full backs, 1 DM and a defensive winger up front. That's some serious Carew-fear Smile

Took me a while to figure out what was going on when I logged on to .TV and looked at the lineup.

Taking the throw in fear a little bit too far, although understandable considering the usual bedlam that a ball into our box results in.

2002: Liverpool, by the way, have started with a 3-5-2 formation, with Glen Johnson and Martin Kelly acting as wing-backs. Adventurous.
Not saying Liverpool doesn't have attacking intent today, but it's typical moronic journalism, thinking that playing 3-5-2 with three central defendeers is more attacking minded than systems with 4 defenders.

'Adventurous' doesn't necessarily mean more attacking, I think they're just saying it's adventurous to play 352 in a time where everyone plays some variant of 442/451.

I thought I'd watch Liver-Stoke to check my man Carew in his new abode. Suffice to say the opening 30 mins have not exactly held my attention with their singular lack of anything interesting happening. Pennant and Gerrard the only 2 players who seem to be even trying to put any pace in this game.

@OptaJoe: 3 - Raul Meireles has scored in three of the five PL games under Kenny Dalglish, after failing to score in 16 under Roy Hodgson. Utilised.

Birmingham level against Man City through a Gardner penalty. 2-2.

Looks like we have got quite the player on our hands. What a wonderful cameo from Suarez. He is like Kuyt but with ability. He was everywhere.

3 wins in a row. If only we had got rid of Hodgson sooner

Woah! Calm down calm down COTR. It was a nice debut goal, but "quite the player" "wonderful cameo" "ability" "3 wins in a row" "world Class genius" "better than Bale" might be pushing it.

I hope not, Anelka Drogba and FloMo have been on fire in the last couple of games so it'd be a strange choice by Ancelotti to start him.

Still, if we're using the precedent of scoring on a debut after coming in as a sub against weaker Premiership teams then STURRIDGE IS THE BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD.

    Lets roll with it.
