For what is worth I watch VDV trying to play deeper in midfield for two seasons and it was what the kids call an epic fail. The role he had with Harry was ideal, just off the striker. I think you'd need someone else (or maybe two someone elses if Modric leaves) to make the AVB 4-3-3 work.
