It's all over. A closer, more evenly-contested match than I was expecting, but ultimately the conclusions reached are the same as they have been for a while; namely, that Arsenal are completely incapable of defending, either as individuals or as a collective; and that the overall strength of this Arsenal team is miles off what it has been in previous years, and also the quality of the teams we are supposedly chasing for fourth. That is simply a fantasy, we won't even get close.

They don't even pass the ball or keep possession very well compared to previous Arsenal sides. It's hard to pinpoint where exactly the strengths in this side lie, aside from the individual talents of someone like van Persie. We offered very little from the hour mark onwards. It's very dispiriting.

For Spurs, Redknapp continues to err either side of the line when it comes to being adventurous. Sometimes their attacking line up catches the opposition out and allows them to dominate through swift, direct attacking. On days like this, they simply got outnumbered in midfield. They could have done with a midfielder instead of Defoe today.

Had a bad feeling about today. Sadly the days of Gardner vs. Henry are long gone.

Next PL games are home to Sunderland & then Stoke. Imperative we pick up six points.

Usually even when they lose, the minimum you get from Arsenal is good passing and movement. But today they were incapable of even that. It was amazing how many passes went straight to Spurs players, under hardly any pressure.

    BAE was fantastic.

He is different to Christian Maggio in that he is FB rather than WB and left sided but similar in that if you described either as one of the best in the world you'd get raised eyebrows.

However, partly due to how good they are and partly down to the fact that there aren't many good players in their positions they are both amongst the very best in their roles.

Great assists from Ade and Song.

1st off, Initially I was convinced that the VDV goal wasn't a handball, but I think it may have caught him on the bicep. It wasn't obvious though.

Relieved to get the three points despite Redknapp's stupidity/bravery in leaving us short in CM. Insane that Sandro didn't start - you could see Arsenal getting a grip and dictating things within the 1st 10 minutes... It was OBVIOUS that playing a 4-4-2 with VDV on the right and the attacking Walker behind him was going to lead to problems, and it was no surprise that the Arsenal goal came down that side. Despite this being evident for the entire first half, he waits until Arsenal have equalised in order to make a change. After Sandro came in Friedel had nothing to do. Apart from the Gervinho chance, Kaboul absolutely beasted RVP.

We should have been more clinical in front of goal though. To many poor decisions. I can't help thinking that Newcastle will punish us far more if we play the same way at the sportsdirect.com@stjames'parkstadium No

As for Arsenal.... what's to be said that hasn't been said already? Wenger needs to go back to his double pivot midfield of the 1st half of his reign, because Mertesacker in particular is so vulnerable down the channels (Like when Chygrynskiy was at Barca) whilst he carries on with this expansive possession game... and Ramsey/Arteta aren't consistently good enough to play it.

PS Jack Wilshere is as bad a twatter as Barton.

Redknapp is good at making substitutions, he's better at changing a game than he is at preempting it. Perhaps he will make a good England tournament manager. Give him the Olympics GB team and if he wins that he can have the England job.

It's a crap rule. He scored in a derby and nothing wrong with wanting share the moment with his supporters. He didn't even go into the crowd, just near the advertising hoardings, where the fans reached over and grabbed him.

Couldn't agree more Kris, on every point made here.

Except one thing - before we start believing the Kimmy/Fey tag team Geordie hype and shitting ourselves about playing the Toon, let's not forget they were VERY fortunate to win this weekend (Doyle's goal was never out). But more concerning for them is that they looked comfortable with their first starting 11, which is good no arguments, but:

    Demba Ba replaced with Lovenkrands
    Cabaye replaced with Guthrie

and no surprise by the end of the game they were holding on. That's a shit bench.

And yes, Jack Wilshere is a massive tool for questioning why a fellow professional wasn't sent off for celebrating an opening goal with the home fans in a local derby. VDV was hardly in danger of inciting a riot FFS.

Because of the layout of WHL VDV didn't have to jump over any hoardings or cross an athletics track to get to the fans he just went a couple of yards off the pitch.

May sound like a daft argument but I'm sure some of you will know what I mean.

ok It makes a difference for sure. The fans are tight in on the pitch at White Hart Lane, that and also it wasn't as though he ran over to the Arsenal fans to mock them, or take his shirt off or even start kissing the badge. Standing arms aloft right up to your own fans a few metres away from where you've scored should never, ever, ever be a booking.

Anyway, both VDV and Wilshere are on twatter, I'm sure Wilshere's comments will get back to him; should make the next time they meet a little more interesting.

    1. You don't know Doyle's goal wasn't out, it could very well have been.

    2. Our bench wasn't that bad, you didn't mention Marveaux, Ben Arfa, and Santon.

    3. I shall regurgitate some of the nonsense people kept throwing at me last season and during our relegation season especially. You create your own luck in this game, and it all evens out at the end of the season. ok

We were a bit lucky against Wolves, we were poor in the 2nd half, but what I object to is people saying we have had ALOT of luck in our run. Our lucky has probably won us 3 points, 2 yesterday and 1 against QPR, but then if people think we should've lost to QPR then maybe we should've beaten Villa.

No idea, but this is the biggest non story of the season. The media are fucking ridiculous here, trying to incite more bile and bitterness between Spurs and Arsenal. Kevin Bond was on the radio this morning stating that Allen had not spoken to anyone about this, that there was a bit of an altercation with Wenger at the end but nothing more. That this made the back pages is pathetic.

As if it wasn't enough that the media repeatedly focussed on Adebayor in the build up to the match, dredging up memories of his dash across the pitch at Man City which I reckon the majority of Arsenal fans had gotten well over by now, then sitting back and reporting in SHOCK that some nasty Adebayor chants then took place during the game.

They are constantly playing us these c**ts, looking to create a story from a story: Wenger is a bitter loser! Or Allen is a shit stirrer! That's what they want us to be arguing about today. Couldn't give a fuck either way
