Holy shit, looks like Newcastle are a genuine title contender, like the good old days hey!

As for Liverpool - wasn't a great performance but happy with a clean sheet and a win. Enrique and Kelly were class - yet another display from Kelly that should earn him an unquestionable place in the Liverpool and England team.

The red was a disgrace but going down to ten men doesn't mean give the game up. Saha was a joke and besides Cahill from a header, there's no other threat from Everton.

It's true that we have mostly been playing bottom half teams, but it is a league, last season we did well against the top teams but dropped points against teams like Blackpool, Blackburn etc. So far we're looking like an improvement, as much as chubby little bitters like yourself might want to deny it.

Great goal by Adam Johnson ok

Looks like Newcastle got a bit lucky - incident well inside the box given as a free kick outside the box by the ref, instead of a penalty. And a late cross that was called out by the linesman, though it wasn't 100% clear. 50-50 call.

It wasn't even that bad, the ball was running out of play, Taylor went shoulder to shoulder with a little Wolves player but got there slightly late. Anyway, that little gobshite Jarvis dived in the box a few minutes later so I don't care, also Karl Henry is still a dirty c**t. <Ale>

I thought we were last seasons Blackpool, and we were supposed to get 2nd season syndrome this season? scratch Anyway, Blackpool don't have players like Krul, Colo, Tiote, Cabaye, and Ben Arfa. <Ale>

Dimbo, who says youve got a first 11 that isnt better than Blackburn , Wolves etc?? Youve got a team to challenge the top 8-10 easily FFS, you sure this isnt your anti Newcastle paranoia raising it's head again?

We also struggled to beat the smaller teams last season- infact its the games against these teams that define a season more than victories over those at the top as they aren't the direct competition for the majority of clubs in this league.

No one can argue that Newcastles start has been anything other than very impressive. They have a very very good midfield IMO, looking forward to playing them should make an entertaining game

Chinston are you suggesting that Newcastle won at home to Arsneal? Because it was a 0-0 according to http://meatspin.com/sport1/hi/football/teams/a/arsenal/results/default.stm

I wasn't there so perhaps THE MEDIA Grr are continuing their Southern agenda.

Back from Ewood, what a great day, drinking and singing in the sun and watching us smash those inbred c**ts. We started very slow but played very well in the second half. Silva and Nasri linked up very well but man of the match for me was Balotelli. He worked his balls off even tracking back and getting stuck in, he took his goal well and was unlucky he didnt get a second.

Johnson was poor again in the first half but i was glad he made me eat my words a bit with an awsome finish. Hopefully Aguero wont be out too long, ive heard 2 weeks so should make the derby.

Overall a very good win and a cracking day.

I really didn't want to come across as giving Newcastle praise, but my biggest fears have been proved true; they did stupendously well in the market this summer. Especially Demba Ba - I really wanted us to take a punt on him Sad

Need to get rid of the 2 Taylor's if they want to be a genuine contender though Ale

Steven is pretty good alongside Colo, he's just a bit Vidic-esque in regards to the rough stuff. Ryan obviously needs to go, along with Simpson. There was talk of Simpson going to Villa at the end of the window so maybe they know he's not particularly good. You probably rate him because he's black though, carry on picking on the white players. Rolling Eyes

Chelsea leading already. Sturridge scores and declines to celebrate. Bolton are in shocking form at the moment. Are there any mitigating factors, or have they just got into a rut?

Was wondering the same, but then I noticed that they've played 5 of the big 6 already, and predictably lost all those games. They did beat QPR, so the only unexpected result for them so far is the home defeat by Norwich. Although that's a pretty bad defeat.

I guess their real season starts after the int'l break.
