The fact that we lost to Norwich isn't a surprise for me: I don't think we've especially rode our luck this season, and prior to today's game I think Manchester City were the only side to really better us, but our good results depended on a group of first choice players being fit and on us making the most of our attacking chances. Even with everyone fit, our first eleven has apparent weaknesses: our full-backs and Obertan aren't worth places in a Premiership side; and I suppose there's maybe a point that we haven't found an entirely coherent front two yet, swapping between Ba plus Ben Arfa, Best or Ameobi. Whereas Coloccini, Steven Taylor, Guthrie and Tiote have been amongst the best players in their respective positions in the league this season, we simply don't have replacements for them, and the players we are having to shoehorn into the side in their stead (two poor full-backs in Simpson and Perch and the woeful Dan Gosling, who isn't a central midfielder but then thus far he doesn't appear to be much of anything) are completely inadequate.
