Research done by a Brazilian company called Futebol Finance:

No surprises near the top...but I was surprised to see Dalglish getting the same as Ferguson/Wenger, and Moyes/Hughes/O'Neill in the top 15, earning 3m each. Hughes Shocked Doh

Its not a surprise, but the fact that no Italian team has a coach in the top 20 kinda reflects the financial situation of the league. The top 3 Italian coaches in that list coach foreign teams. Is Italy becoming another Holland? Hmmm...

I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. The quality of coaches in Italy is fairly high, even given the fact that they would earn less. I just think the numbers at the top are highly inflated. It's the age old debate of how important a manager really is.

For all our love of Guardiola, I and many other Barça fans weren't happy when they announced his increase to 8m euros a year. IMO that's more than a manager should get.

I think those wages are perfectly fine. There is nothing wrong with paying managers high saleries, whatever that means.

yeah, the top Italian clubs are these days getting decent value for their money, as far as coaches are concerned.

And I agree that there is a limit on how much should a coach earn, but IMO the coach is the most important individual of the team, since he makes all the decisions. So if your coach is paid as much as your best players, thats only fair. He is their "boss" afterall.

Will I swap our top player (say Sneijder) with a top coach (say Mourinho)? In an instant...

A lot of clubs are seriously overpaying their managers. Sunderland paying their manager more than Milan is nuts. Surely somebody would manage them for less than £3m a year.

What did Roy Keane and Steve Bruce get to manage them?

MON getting too much, but what about McLeish. Play boring shit football, relegate your team, unwanted by the supporters and you still crack the top 20 of best paid managers. Laugh No

Didn't Roy Hodgson get about £6 million for failing at Liverpool and similarly Villas-Boas Laughing

It's no wonder a lot of footballers look like they're going through the motions these days. A lot of them probably couldn't give a solitary shit once they get their 100 grand each week. Some probably think they should earn more than their manager Rolling Eyes
