so..whats different with england?

a) everybody knows that the next generation is going to be EVEN better (people are already talking about a Platinum Generation)
b) every manager knows that he will not last more than 2 years, but get a contract for 6 years earning £6 million per year, ie £36 million for 2 years ( word has it, that's a decent salary and enough to buy a Semi in London these days)
c) the main reason: the challenge of the impossible
think about it this way; winning the World Cup with Germany should have been easy and therefore no real achievement ( I know, Klinsi fluffed even that one)
assuring that England qualify for the next WC would be the equivalent of eating cabbage without breaking wind
or rather
think of all those girls dating gay guys
WHY do they do it
well, they figure that if they convert him, that have accomplished mission impossible
ie
a MASSIVE EGO BOOST
+
managing Germany would entail endless criticism from about 1000 European and World Champions the country has produced
making England pass a ball, however, would end in automatic ennoblement by HM the QUEEN

Sven-Goran Eriksson was closer to pulling off an amazing achievement than most would admit. Looking back it is easy to say what if? Under his system I feel he could of pulled off one tournament by adding one player. A wc goalie like Buffon. 2002 England v Brasil soft goal in that game changed everything... 2004 losing to penalties to Portugal...Same in 2006.
I think any good coach that comes has a real chance to change things for the better long term now that England are flat on there backsides. He needs to be honest to the media first and tell it how it is. Media and pundits alike need to stop hyping up your players, it hurts the game both at club and national level. Firstly fast stream the system to create top goalies... Spend millions on finding sports minded athletes over 6'4" to get involved......

so english players are $h!t..but if we had had a great goalie we may have won the world cup?
doesnt make sence...
