    Conte investigated for match-fixing

Juventus coach Antonio Conte is among a number of individuals being questioned by police in connection with a match-fixing probe in Italy.

Lazio captain Stefano Mauri and former Genoa midfielder Omar Milanetto have also been arrested in connection with the investigation.

Mauri and Milanetto have been held over allegations of "criminal association and sporting fraud", the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) confirmed.

Officers are searching more than 19 homes in Italy and abroad, including those of coaches and players of clubs in Serie A, Serie B and lower divisions.

Police arrived on Monday morning at Italy's pre-Euro 2012 training camp in Coverciano, Florence, to question former Genoa and Juventus defender Domenico Criscito, who is now a player at Zenit St Petersburg.

Monday's operation is part of an investigation called "Last Bet" carried out by prosecutors in Cremona which focuses on 33 games over the past two seasons, the majority of which were in Serie B.

Earlier this month, the Italian Football Federation released a comprehensive 48-page list naming 22 clubs along with 61 individuals that have been reported to the football authorities in connection with a match-fixing ring and betting investigation.

Seventeen people were arrested by Italian police last year, including Atalanta captain Cristiano Doni.

Atalanta, who had been promoted to Serie A at the end of the 2010-11 season, began the recently completed campaign with a six-point deduction as punishment for match-fixing.

Doni was banned from football for three and a half years by the FIGC's disciplinary committee.

I have my suspicions that a certain devil club has a certain football organization in their back pocket.

(I had to take that shot)

Jokes apart, I am glad the authorities are finally taking some action... this case has been going on for far too long, I hope all others who are found guilty are also banned from the game like Signori & Doni.

Big names like Mauri, Criscito, Conte... if this is true, its sickening! (Of course, all these guys are innocent until proven guilty).

    Insigne looks amazing Shocked

The Torino result in December won them the title - beating Torino on away goals in the head-to head but it does show that the tendency for Zeman's teams to get an offside trap all wrong still exists.

They will be on for some huge beatings next season but should be fun.

All of there 2011/12 games have highlights on this channel.

It's naive to think it only happens in Italy, but the pervasiveness of this stuff in Italy is staggering.

I really doubt that it happens to this degree in England or Spain.

I would expect it to happen more in the lower leagues where players are not paid that much, but not in the top flights where players have huge salaries. Some of the reports of getting paid 10,000 euros etc don't make much sense if these guys earn more than that in a week anyway

It is ridiculous that these players stoop to this level for such low amounts, but we have seen that before... in cricket, it was the same thing. Multi-millionaires doing this for a few thousand pounds, its so disgusting.

That said, most of the investigation is on Serie B and small teams.
