Aside from being a costly defeat, this is ruining Newcastle's goal-difference. They needed a big win in one of their remaining matches to get it up closer to Spurs' and Chelsea's, and now they'll definitely need to finish ahead on points of those teams.

Apparently the referee in the Stoke-Arsenal game got fed up with Stoke's pre-throw in routine and just blew up for half-time when they had a throw in a dangerous area and were faffing around drying the ball again.

It's over, we had a good run, but fuck it. Top 6 is a good finish I suppose.

Wigan had always rolled over obligingly against Man Utd until this season, but they occasionally surprised the other CL teams (Arsenal have lost up there a couple of times and they've beat Chelsea and Spurs recently from what I remember). They've always had the infuriating ability to go 20 games playing shit and turn it on out of nothing, especially at the end of the season.

We have kept alot of clean sheets lately, with a shit defence on paper, so I suppose we should have seen this coming. Also Krul wouldn't be playing if we had a decent backup, he is injured.

have you seen Wigan's defence on paper? It looks like a dog ate a crayon.

If Krul is injured he shouldn't be on the pitch, especially after the fuss Newcastle made over signing Rob Elliot.

Ha ha back to supporting man united full time you plastic geordie!

Dont think the dream of 4th is over for the real newcastle fans, us spurs are horrid at the moment and chelsea are playing 3 games a week and still have to visit the artist formerly known as st james.

Wigan and martinez's stock continues to rise in the meantime.

And Everton! They are on fire at the moment.

Need villa to Pick up a point at least today so they are not fighting for their lives when the spurs come limping in

Stoke fans screaming abuse at Ramsey as he came off. They, rightly, haven't forgiven him for the impertinence of having his leg snapped by one of their players. Arsenal could have had a handball on the edge of the box but it wasn't given. Benayoun has just gone down easily in the box, not a penalty.

2 strikers both doing nothing. We got only one attacking midfielder, N'Zogbia. So what does McLeish do. Sub Zog for another non-attacking CM (Gardner).

The wanker is desperately playing for a draw when we need a win and the game is there to be won. Weimann been by faaaaaar our best striker in recent weeks and is left on the bench. Along with 3 creative midfielders in Bannan, Carruthers and Ireland.

This match and this season can't end soon enough.

Laughing they are a horrible club, however i distinctly remember their being very little collective EMB sympathy when they were pickpocketing us up at the brittania under the watchful eye of the artful dodger mister christopher foy.

Thus i can only channel months of that bitterness into hoping they score in the last minute against you...

Stoke very nearly score in injury time with a typical aerial bombardment. Great clearance from Sagna.

Stoke summed up in injury time; a couple of balls hoofed into the box, and Whitehead escaping a second booking for a late lunge. Ridiculous that the referee waved it off.

Finishes 1-1. We're stuttering towards the finish line, but it wasn't a bad performance today from what I saw of it. Stoke were, and as always are, a bunch of complete c**ts.

We mug a 0-0 thanks to superb last min save by Given and linesman/ref not spotting Hutton's handball. If this anti-football ginger gimp isn't sacked at the end of the season, I quit football. Finally brings on an attacking sub in the first minute of stoppage time. No manager in the world deserves relegation more than McLeish.
