Don't understand why Prandelli is sticking to Montolivo playing behind the strikers. Diamanti was much better

I think Kroos will me focusing his intention on Pirlo.

Abate didn't recover in time

Balzaretti is definitely left footed, so he will try to cut in. Chiellini does not have a great cross. So Italy have lost the wing option already, and will be forced to go through the middle. Which means right through Schweini & Khedira... that won't be easy.

If Italy score, it probably will either be a counter attack, or an individual moment of genius from Pirlo/Balotelli/Cassano.

Kroos in the attacking midfield position, Özil on the right perhaps? Kroos can drop a little deeper if needed, but I'd have thought he'd play noticeably more advanced than the central midfield of Khedira and Schweinsteiger.
