Wrexham at Wembley Empty Wrexham at Wembley

Post by EMP Sun Mar 24, 2013 3:42 pm

A few years ago the historic Welsh club which has graced the Football League for many years fell victim to an unscrupulous owner, who wanted to ruin the club in order to get the land cheaply for him to develop. He resigned in a fit of pique and was exposed, leaving the club with crippling debts. He was banned by the courts for 7 years - should have been life for the bastard - and the fans staved off ruin by clubbing together to save the club.

Delighted to see Wrexham doing well in their league and playing at Wembley today in FA Carlsberg Trophy. Those fans are the good side of football. Hope to see them back in the top leagues soon.

Sorry Debs, but after going through the disgraceful ownership of that scumbag Alex Hamilton, designed to kill that club for commercial gain, you surely can't begrudge their fans their triumph today. You can't be that hard-hearted can you? Without them you have no rivalry. You need them. <Ale>

Laughing I'm sure they have, but Hamilton is a complete scumbag. They haven't had to deal with such a complete pos. That (insert expletive of choice) was taken to court over this in 2010 and banned from being a director of any company for seven years for what he did to Wrexham - bastard! Whatever happened to the FA's fit and proper person test?

    Just for you Debaser.

Despite stiff competition Despenser was chosen in a poll of historians as the worst Briton of the 14th century. Had it not been for the Welsh, England could have been subjected to yet more of Despenser's corrupt and useless rule in the name of Edward II. By the way Despenser is an ancestor of both Presidents Bush. I think that explains a lot!

I think it's telling that you had to go back to the 14th century to find something good that the Welsh did Whistle
