Re: Confederations Cup
The only good teams in the competition this time are Spain and Uruguay. Which makes it a bit of a joke really, watching Uruguay vs Spain should be good fun though, even though Uruguay are not as good as they where just 2 years ago.
You ask will Spain take is seriously, well they only have to turn up for one game so I think they will go all out to win it.

No doubt EMP will be supporting the African team, can't wait to see them embarrass themselves like they did in the last World Cup.

Brasil has three time zones and I'm not sure of the geography, but the links below say when the matches are being played and where and the time zones in Brasil.

Re: Confederations Cup
The feel here is that Brazil have almost no chance of winning both Confed Cup and WC. I had never seen such a technical crisis as we're having now. But I try to think what I would think about Italy/Germany/Argentina if they were in a similar situation: they are too big to be writen off.
Las week a national based Brazil couldn't beat a national based Chile at home. The crowd booed the team and sang olés to Chilean fine passing against Brazil. Typical of Brazilian fans. Don't be surprised to see something like this in the WC if they don't perform convincingly from the beginning. I've seen a shower of plastic Brazilian flags in a WC qualifier game against Ecuador before 2002 WC. Imagine thousands of small England flags being thrown away in disgust, forming a kind of flag-waterfall on the stands because England is not playing well against, say, Romania. Brazilian national fans for you, the most schizofrenic in the world. An Argie or Uruguayan would enver do that.

Brazilian fans are usually bad fans, but I gotta give them one thing: they'll never say "we didn't take it seriously" after a defeat.

I don't plan to go, at least not in the Confed Cup. I live in São Paulo, and the city won't be in the Confed Cup, only in the WC.
In the WC though I plan to go at least to a couple of games in São Paulo, but I'm not eager enough to "fight" for a ticket, so a Brazil game is out of the question.
Moreover, international games in Brazil are completely different from club games. Last time I went to a Brazil game 2 c**ts behind me kept asking me and other guys to sit down (we were on the terraces). I mean, who the fuck watch a game sitting on the terraces? National team fans give me the creeps.
My wife, who doesn't give a damn about football, is more interested in going than me. You see? I don't think I'll feel comfortable in a game where most of the crowd are not there beause of the game, but because it's a big event.
If you spend a time in São Paulo, though, send me a PM and we may have a couple of beers anyway.

Just googled cachaça. Looks good man
There is a chance I might go to watch a game or 2 in 2014 myself. Going to the WC in Brazil is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Will have to find somebody who is willing to go with me though, somebody who likes football as well as partying. And who has the money and time to go of course.

WC 2014 definitely. Hey man, I'm watching the Aston Villa game and saw how Benteke alone has saved Lambert's ass. With the game secured, leading 5-1, Benteke comes off to a standing ovation and Lambert only gave him a hand shake.
At least he could've give him an honest hug for saving his career, FFS!

In Brazil?
Corinthians, São Paulo, Fluminense, Atlético, Grêmio. You can also keep an eye on Inter (Dunga's now their coach) and Santos (because of Neymar).
