    Bye bye Champions League wave

    For us you mean.

We needed United to win today, I can't see us beating Chelsea at the Bridge, a draw there would have left us level on points with their run in involving a europa league final.

This feels like the end of the road again. That little bit of luck needed in tight situations, the one where you sometimes need other results to go your way, I fear today was that moment and thanks to Fergie playing a weakened team he's gone and fucked us. The dick Grr

Don't worry, Villa will fix this by beating Chelsea next week. After all, we came very close to winning at Stamford Bridge.

Our match was seriously poor. Two sides who just fell short of their ambitions and it showed. The goal that was ruled out for Everton should have stood but it's evened out from the Suarez disallowed winner at Goodison.

I felt we showed some good signs but they were very rare; Coutinho is a hell of a passer, reminds me of a young Kaka, I hope he can continue to develop as he'll be an important player for us next season.

Sturridge has quality but, Like Suarez, misses too many chances then panics and resorts to silly efforts.

Henderson has been great, his work ethic and ability on the ball should see him stick around for a few years at least.

Downing just doesn't have it for me; I'd get rid in the summer despite improvement from last season.

2 games left - we can't finish 6th and shouldn't slip into 8th. This season has been a bit of a write off but I feel more positive going into next season then I did at the end of last season despite getting to two cup finals; the players just didn't want to be playing in our last 6 or 7 league games under Dalglish whereas we're playing some nice stuff and have a more solid foundation to build on for next season IMO. The King Kenny Worshippers like GR and Wormy might not agree but I believe under Rodgers we can get back into the Champions League provided our owners invest money in the team again this summer and by some miracle we can persuade the biter to stay.

I promised myself not to ever reply to your posts but feel I need to correct you on this.

I was never a King Kenny Worshipper (like you were) - in fact I wanted him out so it paves way for Rafa's return or another top manager with a winning mentality who would retain our 'top' status.

Kenny should never have been sacked for someone like Martinez or Rodgers. Given a choice between Kenny staying another season and Brendan Rodgers, I would have definitely sticked with Kenny (for footballing reasons).

If that makes me a King Kenny worshipper then so be it. ok

    Cheers

A Stoke win tonight would be huge, Sunderland will have Southampton at home and Spurs away left.

Not holding my breath though, nothing is going our way. Sad

Not that I care much about Charlie Adam, but he's lucky to be able to continue after Craig Gardner's tackle. Lee Mason is one of the most leniest referees in Premier League, so when he is sending off somebody you know it was a bad one.

that was the only excitement all game, especially after the sending off when some silly Geordie ran on the pitch looking for a horse to punch. I was at a non League playoff final this afternoon, the sort of game where one team dominates the first half, and the other dominates the second, because the pitch is so steep. Most of the game was goal kicks. That was a better game than this.

Tomorrow's game will decide 4th IMO.

A Chelsea win will see them all but qualify as they will definitely beat Everton at home last day of the season even if they don't win the Villa game.

Gareth Bale can't afford to lose tomorrow because Stoke away isn't a game you want when you have to win. Sunderland last day of the season could need a win to stay up so that won't be easy either.

Arsenal will beat Wigan at home but Newcastle away won't be easy, still I expect them to get 4 points at least from those 2 games.

    Chelsea 75
    Arsenal 71
    Spurs 69

I think it will end on.

Mousa Dembele and Aaron Lennon doubtful for the Chelsea game.

Cannot see us winning that game. If we did, it would probably be THE greatest result in our recent history, given our reputation for Spursing shit up. However, who would also bet against us winning, then chucking it all away against either Sunderland or Stoke?

Part of me can't wait until this season is over. Supporting Spurs is like constantly teetering on the edge of a cliff, on the one side a luxurious green sweeping hill framed against a blue sky, covered in semi naked women with enormous tits as far as the eye can see, beckoning you like horny sirens. The other, a cavernous black pit of disappointment and crushed dreams.

It's the hope that kills you Ale
