    Gerrard and Lampard both retired...

Rooney shouldn't be captain because he shouldn't be in the team - we all know he will score v shit teams in qualifiers and then fail in the tournaments.

quite like the team. Delph should play 2nd half.

Sack Roy all you want, but the main issue runs far deeper than him.

Why anyone would pay to watch this shit (i.e. the same dire unimaginative bullshit wr have seen in every friendly for about five years) is beyond me. You can hear a pin drop in the stadium.

I know it's only a friendly, but Sterling is easily the best player the world has ever seen.

5 posts on the game. Must've been riveting.

It is odd how we can't get a decent performance out of that 6. On paper, it's pretty feckin' decent. I watched Henderson, Sterling and Sturridge have barnstorming games on the weekend against us, movement, pace, power. And yet again fail to do much for England.

I think he stuck Sterling to the wing first half in a 442. I only watched second half. England ended the match more like this:

    Milner-Henderson-Delph
    Sterling
    Sturridge-Welbeck

looked alright, dangerous at times. Sterling was key as the linkup between midfield and attack. Welbeck looked sharp & Delph was decent. Milner was hopeless.

In his off-camera newspaper briefing, Hodgson said: “We are getting 83,000 people to see us play Peru, who, with respect, were nowhere near as difficult as an opponent as Norway. And now we have 40,000 to see us play against a much more difficult opponent. I can’t put that right because I can’t turn the clock back, but what I can do is analyse what I have seen and judge that through my eyes. I’m not going to judge [on the basis] that someone is telling me, ‘Well, you only had two shots at goal’. For me, that is absolute fucking bollocks. I’m sorry.”

England hopefully continue to get smaller gates sack Hodgson and only use players and coaches not in the EPL show boat weak minded losers. Until they sort out a plan to go forward let other players have a chance. Send a message to the EPL you are part of the cancer in English footy.

Daniel Sturridge - he's not afraid to shoot is he ?

If Welbeck had put in that performance he would get slaughtered.

Fucking Hodgson. Something he's doing in training clearly doesn't agree with Sturridge as he's picked up his 7th international duty injury. So ridiculous having pointless internationals 3 weeks into the season - I always fear our players will come back with Hodgsonitis, what a dire football manager.

Ah well Laughing  I would like to see the Welbeck/Romario comparison more. Jack Colback got called up to the England squad because Adrian Durham wrote an article calling him the ginger Pirlo.

The problem I have with games like this is it will be seen as a corner turned, but at a tournament I really don't think we would beat them. It's just the cycle continuing.

That would be great but it's never going to happen. He needs an injury to take him out of the team.
