I think the Argentina rivalry is more unpleasant, people will root for the Krauts.

Brazil will certainly root for the Krauts. I expect a crowd of Flamengo supporters wearing Flamengo jersey (same as Germany away jersey) to support the Germans.

I'll be rooting for Germany. Not because I hate Argentina - even though they'll be underdogs in this match, at no point have they been impressive.

Germany are the better side and the better squad. They were (arguably) the favourites before the tournament, and their game, professionalism and excecution have undoubtedly been the best of the tournament, and fully deserve to be officially crowned "the best team in the world". (A couple of dives aside), they're even likeable. Their approach to youth development should (and will) be the template for many nations. This will be the occasion when all that work and dedication comes to fruition, and one the times they truly deserve to win.

If one of them become WC winners, will there be a new shirt? I basically have them all, except Argentina and Germany are missing, Germany looks not so great as usual, but perhaps it will be classic like the 1988-1990 one. Or will they get a new one after they won? Same goes for Argentina. Both their away shirts are awful.

Who will be the homeside? One of them won't wear their home colours.

Contrary to almost all Brazilians, I always support South America. But if Germany win it will be very deserved and it will crown the best team up to now.

I support América Latina, except Argentina.

i really don`t rate them at all

i don`t see a single area where they are better than us, yeah you can argue with messi, but he looks garbage without support from his limited team mates

Actually, I do expect Argentina to play very defensively against us, just like they have done all tournament to be honest.

Totally disagree. They have a strong defence and are very well organised, close down space very effectively. They play as a team for once and are difficult to break down. Plus, they have genuine quality up front to hurt us, even if lacking penetration so far in this tournament.

It's going to be a difficult and close match. The worst thing our team could do now is becoming complacent and underestimating them, that's actually my worst fear after the Brazil spanking. We need to be sharp, focused and determined. Expect a match similar to the 1/4 finals vs. France. It'll be very important for us to have Hummels fit, as I said earlier.

I expect Argentina to play for penalties from the first minute or look for some magic from messi. If they go a goal up then they look defensively good enough to hold out. If they concede first and have to come out and play they'll get done like Brazil, just not as badly.

I took that newspaper poll that said I was secretly supporting Germany, but  honestly couldn't choose between the Germans and the Dutch until last night. Kimbo can now reveal that I'm a German Scouser born in Hong Kong and living in Scandinavia .

But beyond that I've always disliked Argentina. They always seem like a bunch of whiny little c**ts who kick the opposition, surround the ref, engage in any and every kind of cheating without any remorse. Basically the barca of international football. I hope that either Germany batter them 4-0 or in case it is a close game a handball goal or a Muller dive/penalty to beat them   

And of course there is the particularly shit rat tail!!!

Brasil was also known for closing down opponents, look what happened, south american football is a decade away from modern football

Argentina are mentally stronger, have more quality and are especially tactically much better than Brazil. Plus, they are very motivated to win the WC on Brazilian soil, that's what their fans and even players have been singing about all tournament.

We must be very sharp and professional to win this. And yes, I'm more afraid of our own attitude.

It's always a player from the winning team, so the final will also decide this.

Yes in the past few tournaments Germany have been labelled favourites after some big performances, yet they failed to perform later in the tournament. Low has to make sure this doesnt happen again.

They are weak but most top international teams (excluding Germany) are much weaker than they were 10-15 years ago.

Don't think most are MUCH weaker. Just a bit and the rest of the world got better too.

Bobo has a point

I think Holland 2010 is not 10-15 years ago.
France is clearly in the same spot as Germany 1998/2002 and getting stronger now after their low points. Already near the 2006 France (which wasn't THAT good).

So its pretty even imo.
