I have been following La Liga more then the EPL for the last two seasons I think. Considering the EPL is gettin worse and worse, and the fact I can watch all La liga games live. But Guidetti...he had a lot of potential but got that injury, which he never fully recovered from. Also he is one of those players that wants to play at the top of the game when they are 20...those players never make it.

Bacca is decent, but replaceble. Not sure of Guidetti is the right option.

Pogba to Barca, please make it happen.

90m for Pogba. Unreal. I've never seen him play a great game. And I've seen him play a U21 game for France in which Illarra completely dominated him. Shocked

Jaime wrote:A few odds and ends...

*Sergio Garcia is leaving Espanyol to play in Qatar for Al-Rayyan. He's been in the club 5 years now and he really became one of the banner players. Have no idea where Espanyol will find goals next season.

*It looks like Rafa Benitez really is buying back Lucas Vazquez. 1m euro for the right winger who had a decent season for Espanyol last term. The new "Antonio Nuñez". Erm

*Villarreal are selling Gio Dos Santos for 7m euro to MLS in America. Going to be a very new look Yellow Submarine come August.

*Laporta is basically promising Pogba if he is elected president. Still some of the early polls show Bartomeu ahead slightly.

*Valencia pulled out of the Rodrigo Caio transfer because they said he failed his medical with big questions over a previous knee injury. Apparently Atletico have swooped in and are trying to finalise the transfer.

*Arda Turan looks like he could be going to Chelsea. His agent is talking a lot these days but it sounds like the deal would include Chelsea sending Filipe Luis back to the Vicente Calderon.

*Joao Miranda passed his medical with Inter so that is a done deal. 15m euro.

*Real Sociedad may start the preseason with zero first team goalkeepers. There is an ongoing saga over the possible transfer for Geronimo Rulli to Valencia who are looking for a stand in while Diego Alves is injured. Plus they released Zubikarai. Three kids from Sanse have been called up by Moyes for their first stage of preseason.

*Marca reporting that Milan are going to pay the buyout for Carlos Bacca. The only thing they are negotiating is the schedule of payments.

*Sevilla being linked with John Guidetti as they prepare to lose Carlos Bacca. Fey will have to start following la liga now! Wink He would be available on a free transfer.

*RM shopping Lucas Silva around. With the signing of Danilo and the return of Casemiro (plus James) they have the three non-EU places filled. Lucas Silva had been linked with Sevilla earlier but now Deportivo being mentioned as a possible loan destination.

*Villarreal wanting to make the Victor Ruiz loan deal a permanent one. Sounds like the clause is for 3m euro. He had some talented Victor Ruiz. I think it was a big mistake when he went to Italy so early in his career. Just turned 26 so he still has his best years ahead of him.

*Real Madrid being linked with several names in wake of all the Sergio Ramos rumours. I still don't believe he is leaving, not yet anyway. The first is Bonucci from Juve. Um, no thanks. As we all know it's a disaster waiting to happen for a Serie A defender to move to Spain. Now being linked with Marquinhos (not sure really how good he is or isn't) and Aymeric Laporte who I do love. He's not Sergio Ramos but he is a great young defender. Laporte was being linked with Milan. I think his buyout is still pretty reasonable, like 20m or something.

This is depressing, it's all about La Liga clubs selling again. Including the brilliant Sergio Garcia.

    Today's roundup!

*Victor Ruiz to Villarreal is confirmed. 2,7m euro + 300.000 in variables.

*Real Sociedad are close to signing Bruma on loan. Portuguese kid. Well from Guinea Bissau but plays for Portugal. Went to Galatasaray from Sporting CP a couple summers back for 10m. La Real will have an 8m option to buy clause. Supposedly he is pretty talented.

*The Konoplyanka sweepstakes continues. Now everyone is saying he will sign for Atleti. Who knows. Who cares.

*Barcelona supposedly will present Pogba as the first signing of 2016-17. 90m. Won't be able to play until January. Marotta still denying it.

*Barcelona also negotiating for Fluminense midfielder Gerson. Transfer fee in the realm of 16m.

*Athletic Bilbao have signed Real Sociedad midfielder Gorka Elustondo on a free transfer.

*Tottenham have joined the race to sign Alderweireld. Previously Southampton was the only potential destination where he was on loan last term.

*Martin Montoya going on loan to Inter. #LaMasia

*Inter also looking at signing Mario Suarez from Atletico. He's a really solid player. He's kind of stuck behind Gabi and Koke right now.

*Sounds like Sevilla will sign Adil Rami from Milan. No idea why it didn't work for him in Italy. He was very injury prone during his time in Valencia.

*Mundo Deportivo reporting that Barcelona are trying to snipe Arda Turan away from Chelsea. Looks like next year's midfield will be completely #LaMasia free. Pogba-Turan-Rakitic. Ale

*Betis signing German Pezzella from River Plate. Central defender will cost about 2,5m plus variables.

    I didn't know Turan was a DM.

And Konoplyanka is quality, especially for a free transfer, he will replace Arda Turan nicely.

*Carlos Bacca to Milan is official.

    http://sevillafc.es/nuevaweb/actualidad/noticias/38029

*Derik Osede is moving to Bolton Wanderers. Not sure if it is a loan or a permanent move. I always thought he had some promise but there is no way he could play in the 1st team right now so it's probably better than staying in Castilla for more time.

*Alvaro Medran will play on loan at Getafe next year. Again, it's good that he gets 1st team experience in a top flight club. Ancelotti really liked him but he had a bad knee injury last year which stopped his progression.

*Sevilla want to sign Sergio Escudero from Getafe. Left back would cost 3m or so.

*Atletico being linked with Pjanic from Roma. 45m is the rumoured price.

*Turan has said that the links with Barcelona are only rumours and that he is enjoying his holidays, nothing more.

*Burgui moving from RM Castilla to Espanyol to replace Lucas Vazquez.

*Two Celta Vigo players being linked with a move to Serie A. Fontas is wanted by Genoa and Augusto Fernandez by Lazio. Fernandez was also being linked with Valencia but that rumour seems to have cooled this week.

*Getafe also working to bring Emiliano Velazquez back on loan for another year.

*Another Atletico Madrid rumour: Nicolas Gaitan from Benfica for 30m. I don't know if all of these are legit or only fueled by the rumours of Turan leaving.

*Very strange rumours surrounding Michu. He obviously was a pretty big flop in Italy. Sounds like he doesn't want to go back to Swansea. Being linked with Deportivo, Rayo, Malaga, and Espanyol in the most recent edition of Mundo Deportivo. I would have thought a team with more quality could do with him. His last year in Rayo and his 1st year with Swansea were really good. Even Sevilla who now has to replace Bacca could do with him. Or Villarreal who have to replace Vietto (and most likely Gio Dos Santos). Anyway it would be good if he returned to la liga, just surprised the calibre of team.

*Granada want to loan Raul Jimenez who suddenly looks like he has no place in Diego Simeone's Atletico.

*Pedrito again being linked with a move away from the Camp Nou. This week it is PSG. I think he would do great in England, personally. Either way, if he leaves I can stop hating him. ok

*Villarreal are trying to get Cheryshev on loan for one more season. RM want to sell him outright.

*Atletico's young striker Borja Baston looking for a loan move this year to a top flight club: Getafe, Rayo, and Malaga all being mentioned. Also Ajax and Everton.

*Atletico are really thin at centre back. Really only Godin and Gimenez at the moment considering they want to sell Alderweireld and Velazquez will be loaned. Being linked with Anderlecht's congolese defender Chancel Mbemba. He's only 20 years old. Never seen him before.

*PSG trying to dump Zlatan so they can sign Benzema. Erm

*De Gea is back in Madrid. Says he is just home to enjoy the last of his holidays. AS and Marca suggesting the deal will be finalised soon, 35m euro.

Villarreal already have a superior player to Michu in Leo Baptistao.

Well Valencia did finish 4th with the same team as they have now. So they can't be doing that bad by keeping hole of these players.

But who is going to replace Bacca at Sevilla? Will Gamiero now be first choice?

No, I don' think they trust Gameiro tbh.

They've been linked with a number of forwards including Ben Yedder, Ciro Immobile, and Edin Dzeko. Earlier in the summer I had seen Solomon Rondon's name but that rumour seems to have cooled. Guidetti is also being mentioned.

Lots of transfer news and gossip.

*Turan seems to be gone, 95%. Whether it's Barcelona (seems likely) or somewhere in England (Man Utd and Chelsea) is harder to say but for sure he won't play in Atletico next year. Seems like Atletico are asking for 40m or so. Barcelona's reported offer is 35m + 7m in variables. Atletico being linked with Cazorla as a possible replacement and also just today I'd seen Marca mentioning Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco from Monaco.

*Cobeño has renewed his contract with Rayo for a further year.

*Marcelino really going to clean house at Villarreal. Apparently he is not counting on Cani, Javier Espinosa, Moi Gomez, Gio Dos Santos, Aleksandar Pantic, or Jonathan Pereira. Gio will be going to America to play for LA Galaxy in MLS. The rest are all pretty useless although Cani may still have a couple of years left but not as a key player. I thought he was a shrewd loan signing for Atletico last January but he didn't really offer much.

*Pedro is eventually going to leave FCB. There's just no point for him now that there is Neymar, Suarez and Messi. Arsenal are interested but Liverpool also really want him. He will be allowed to leave for about 20m euro.

*Valencia have signed Bakkali pending the medical.

*Deportivo are signing Luis Alberto on loan from Liverpool. The worst thing he could have done was go to England when he did. He had one good season with Farsa B and then he was off. He didn't do much at Malaga last year and I don't know the full story but hopefully he can get his career back on track in A Coruna.

*Getafe have made two signings Alvaro Medran (loan) and Cala (free).

*Sevilla have also made two more signings official Rami (4m) and Escudero (3m). Escudero will be the left back with Fernando Navarro leaving and Tremoulinas seemingly on his way to PSG. Pretty good business by Monchi.

*Valencia have paid the buyout for Celta Vigo's 19 year old striker Santi Mina. Unsurprisingly, he is another Jorge Mendes player. Valencia are going to be in big trouble with the investigation goes down. Laughing

*Here's one from segunda. Mallorca have decided they no longer need the services of world beater and future WPOTY Gay Assulin. They feel his talent is more suited to Segunda B. #LaMasia

*Chechu Dorado leaves Villarreal on a free to sign with Rayo Vallecano.

*Sounds like Odegaard is definitely going on loan. The brat is probably refusing to play in Castilla. He can f**k off as far as I'm concerned. Betis, Villarreal and now Celtic are all rumoured to be in for the Norwegian baby.

*Freixa is promising Verratti if he is elected president of FCB noting that none of Barcelona's current #LaMasia midfielders are good enough any more.

*De Gea told Van Gaal that he wants to leave! Biggrin

*Meanwhile TVE reporting that Casillas will sign for Porto.

*And finally, David Barral looks like he will sign for Al-Dhafra in the UAE. Hopefully his twitter stays hilarious.

Here's an overview of the non RM/FCB squads currently.

    ATLÉTICO

    Goalkeepers: Oblak, Moyà
Defenders: Gámez, Giménez, Godín, Juanfran, Siqueira
Midfielders: Gabi, R. García, Koke, Óliver, Saúl, M. Suárez, Tiago
Forwards: Correa, Griezmann, J. Martínez, F. Torres, Vietto

Undecided: Alderweireld, Borja Bastón, Insúa, Manquillo, R. Pérez

Analysis: Obviously Simeone needs to sort out the backline with only two proper centre backs in the squad at the moment and Guilherme being the only left back. If Oliver takes a big step forward, that would be a huge asset for the squad. How to replace Turan is the only other big question right now. The group of forwards is pretty impressive inspite of El Niño, especially if Correa turns out to be good.

    VALENCIA

    Goalkeepers: D. Alves, Yoel
Defenders: Barragán, Cancelo, Gayà, Mustafi, Orbán, Otamendi, Vezo
Midfielders: Bakkali, de Paul, Feghouli, A. Gomes, J. Fuego, Parejo, E. Pérez, Piatti
Forwards: Alcácer, Santi Mina, Negredo, Rodrigo

    Undecided: Cartabia

Analysis: Valencia have to find a goalkeeper with Diego Alves out until the new year most likely. Could probably use one more centre back or possibly two if (when) Otamendi leaves. They also lack depth in the centre of midfield as well.

    SEVILLA

    Goalkeepers: Beto, S. Rico
Defenders: Carriço, Coke, Diogo, Escudero, Kolodziejczak, Pareja, Rami, Trémoulinas
Midfielders: Banega, Iborra, Kakuta, Konoplyanka, Krohn-Dehli, Krychowiak, Reyes, D. Suárez, Vitolo
    Forwards: Gameiro

    Undecided: Cristóforo, Hervás, Rabello, Rusescu

Analysis: Not really sure what Krohn-Dehli brings to the squad. I guess he was a free transfer so it's not the worst. Rami could be a great bargain if he can stay fit. Obviously the big question mark is focused on the forwards. Gameiro won't be enough. Monchi has done a great job of finding strikers (Kanoute, Luis Fabiano, Negredo, Bacca) in recent times. Linked with several big names but I wouldn't be surprised if it's someone completely unknown.

    VILLARREAL

    Goalkeepers: Areola, Asenjo, Juan Carlos
Defenders: Bailly, Costa, Jokić, Mario, Mustacchio, Pablo, V. Ruiz, Rukavina
Midfielders: Bruno, S. Castillejo, J. Dos Santos, Pina, Trigueros
Forwards: L. Baptistao, S. García, Gerard

Undecided: Cani, Gio Dos Santos, Espinosa, Moi Gómez, Pantić, Pereira

Analysis: Pretty well settled at the back and in goal. They will need some more help up front and in midfield following the departures of Vietto and (likely) Gio. Gerard I like quite a bit and only had 5 fewer goals than Vietto despite playing about 10 fewer matches. Baptistao will add quality but I'm not so sure he will score a lot of goals.

Here's the rest of the news and gossip!

*Garay is now being mentioned as a possible replacement should Sergio Ramos really leave RM. I still think he's more likely to stay than go but we'll see. I don't mind Garay. He was injured a lot in his first spell. And he isn't the fastest but I like him better than Otamendi personally.

*The rumour yesterday was that FP announced that De Gea was done but wouldn't be officially announced for a few weeks. The papers say that there is a lot of negotiating to do and AS is now saying if a deal can't be done with Man Utd, they will most likely sign Kiko Casilla from Espanyol.

*Robin van Persie being linked with RM as well. A bit bizarre. I guess maybe he's not happy in Man Utd but he would still only be a part time player in RM. Thew 'new Chicharito'. Would prefer to see Llorente but also the rumours are that Ronaldo will be Benitez's '9' and then if Benzema is the backup maybe there won't be another striker signed.

*Apparently Arsenal and Chelsea are fighting over the one and only Munir. My word was he much ado about nothing. He scores two goals for FCB and all the sudden he is a rock star and now he's completely disappeared. Another kick in the balls for the #LaMasia hype machine.

*Gaitan being mentioned as another candidate to replace Arda Turan but the Ferreira Carrasco rumours seem to be picking up steam.

*Big rumour is that Joaquin Sanchez who left Spain a couple years back to play in Fiorentina wants to return to his beloved Betis now that they are back in the 1st division. Would be a really huge signing for them. Betis is putting together a squad with some decent talent.

*Uruguayan defender Damian Suarez has signed for Getafe after leaving Elche.

*Sevilla right back Diogo Figueiras has left for Genoa. One year loan with an option to buy.

*Sevilla are also reported to have offered 12m for Immobile but Dortmund are asking 15m.

*Rayo trying to sign Moi Gomez (Villarreal) and Diego Llorente (RM Castilla) on loan.

*Atletico being linked with Abdennour the centre back from Monaco. Seems to be getting a lot of attention from the big clubs this summer.

*Sevilla have rescinded the contract of Chilean winger Bryan Rabello. He came in with a lot of hype but never really amounted to anything.

Here's a look at Betis' potential squad:

    ---------------------------------------Adan/Gimenez

    Piccini/Molinero-------J. Figueras/Tarek-------Bruno/Alex------Varela/Casado

    ---------------X. Torres/Portillo------Petros/N'Diaye

    Joaquin(?)/Vadillo----------van der Vaart/Matilla/Ceballos--------Kadir/Pacheco

    ----------------------------------------Molina/Castro

They are also rumoured to be signing Dider Digard who is pretty decent and almost moved to Real Sociedad last summer. The president also wants to buy another striker.

    A few odds and ends

*Real Madrid are rumoured to be signing Kiko Casilla from Espanyol. Of course he played a few seasons in the youth categories of RM before moving on. The De Gea move sounds like it is still happening. Interestingly, the latest rumour is Man Utd want Keylor Navas as part of the deal. So the goalkeepers could be completely different from last year once the season starts.

*Chicharito being linked with Sevilla as a possible replacement for Bacca. They are probably going to need two strikers this off season.

*John Guidetti who had been linked with Sevilla is now, supposedly, negotiating with Celta Vigo.

*William Carvalho is being tipped as a possible replacement for Illarra if he leaves. No thanks! He'll probably cost 45m considering he comes from a portuguese team.

*Inigo Martinez being mentioned as a possible replacement for Sergio Ramos. He was linked with us last summer when it looked like Pepe or Varane might leave for England. I still think he's a pretty good young defender.

*Rumour that Jose wants Isco at Chelsea. lol!

*Karanka trying to take Stuani to Middlesborough. Offering 3,5m for the striker which isn't bad business for Espanyol.

*Giampaolo Pazzani was released by Milan yesterday and it sounds like Betis could be making an offer.

*Sevilla have signed Steven N'Zonzi from Stoke, presumbably to replace Stephane Mbia in the middle of the park. £7m is the fee that I've seen reported.

*Eibar have signed Keko from Albacete for anyone that cares (which is probably nobody!)

*Looks like Moi Gomez will join Getafe on loan for the next year. Still find it out that he is on the out at Villarreal but anyway.

*Rayo are trying a spectacular bid to bring back Michu but his wages are the principal stumbling block right now.

*PSG back in for Pedrito. Apparently if they can offload Lavezzi they want to sign Pedro for about 20m.

*Casillas is renouncing part of his wages in order to join Porto. It sounds like this could free up money to give Sergio Ramos the big pay raise he was promised after la Decima.

    1. Another good pick up by Sevilla - Nzonzi maybe doesn't have physicality of Mbia and can't play CB as emergency, but offers much more in open play. Especially his runs from deep are very dangerous. Had a reputation as a troublemaker back in the day, but it seems at least Hughes was able to control him.

    2. I don't get it either. Rumour is Villarreal wants for Moi to have more starting opportunities, but unless they will get Cheryshev and maybe one more winger he would have enough chances at El Madrigal. Plus, recent examples of players loaned out from Villarreal (Espinoza, Aquino) aren't very productive.

Stuani is worth well more than 3.5 million, especially considering they are losing Sergio Garcia.
