2 seasons in a row Newcastle will have beaten their club record for consecutive defeats, but people still turn up.

Looks like Newcastle are just getting to the end of the season before binning Carver. It's a good job Pards got you the points to keep you safe.

25 minutes between us and 5 meaningless games of the rest of the season other than saying goodbye to Captain Fantastic.
We should be hammering shit teams like this. So toothless.

Our glorious form under Pards, 42 points in his last 40 games and a -29 goal difference, we didn't win a league game until the 18th October when we fluked one against Leicester, he had 7 wins in 12 months. We were a disaster for the whole of 2014 apart for a jammy run where we were beating teams by a goal whilst continuing to play badly.

I think Carver still has a chance of getting the job. The mugs in the stadium were given leaflets against Ashley, the stewards are collecting them and these pussies are just handing them over.

I'd be extremely angry if I supported a club that went down over Newcastle. It's close to match fixing at the minute - play Newcastle and get 3 points with minimal quality shown.

We don't deserve to be in the league, publicly saying we don't want to be in Europe or cup competitions, and everything we do on the football side of things reflects that.

And that is officially season over for us then.
Hope Spurs or Southampton pip us to Europa though - we won't win it and it will detract from doing anything worthwhile in the other competitions.

Re: Premier League 25/26 April 2015
Palace are assholes. Last week they lose at home to WBA to get them out of trouble, now they lose at home to Hull.
least QPR and Sunderland didn't win and Burnley & QPR now look dead (though it's foolish to think that given the unlikely Leicester revival). between Sunderland, Hull, Leicester & Villa for the 3rd spot. hopefully we can grab something at City.

Re: Premier League 25/26 April 2015
Awful start - as bad a goalkeeping error as you'll see - but picked up a bit towards end of half and City are looking very underwhelming so at 1-0 we might still be able to get something yet.
just need to get Grealish and Benteke on the ball more. and learn the offside rule.

Re: Premier League 25/26 April 2015
Ultimately threw away the match with sloppy mistakes. the better team for large parts, esp the 2nd half. Iffy offside call on Benteke just before the winner, would've been a penalty if the flag hadn't gone up as Hart cleaned him out. Frustrating but more promising signs from Delph, Benteke, Grealish. just gotta get the points in the home games

Tim never really did anything wrong at Spurs in fairness, didn't do a great job, didn't do an awful job, was pretty passionate about trying to get them to do well.. Brought through some youth..
For some reason he was treated with a level of scorn only Spurs fans would be able to muster for a player who managed nearly 100 games for their club.

It was an open secret he had involvement in destabilizing and ultimately getting AVB sacked at a hugely awkward point in the season, turning players and having meetings with Levy. He then took over a top 6 club with no qualifications, not even a UEFA certification, and proceeded to hunt the spotlight like he was Jose Mourinho. He did do some good things, namely promote Kane and Bentaleb, but he made it almost impossible to warm to him the way he swanned in and out of pre and post match interviews talking like some sort of self proclaimed Jesus and saviour, utterly lacking in any humility or appreciation of how fortunate his situation had turned out to be . He lacked tact and with his over inflated sense of self importance managed to alienate numerous players at the club calling them out and airing the dirty laundry in public (the rant after Chelsea was utterly unprofessional), and you could see the impact that had in how they played. Opta posted a stat the other day showing how Spurs under Sherwood covered the least ground per match than any other team in the PL last season. The notion we played well under him was mostly a myth, we got utterly murdered by any half decent side we played. No top 4 scalps or even draws under him.
Now he's gone I do think there are many Spurs fans who over obsess and have developed a disproportionate hatred of him in the same way plenty of Liverpool fans have done with Hodgson for example. Unnecessary in my book, and actually now he's -y'know - getting games under his belt and gaining experience of being a manager as opposed to being a total rookie with a big gob, the more "success" he achieves (he's made Villa watchable and competitive again, which earlier this season seemed improbable), the less his weird ego centric behaviour bothers me. He might actually turn out half decent, and be entertaining in the process. Just wait until he starts pulling out the win ratios.

Everton well worth their 2-0 lead.
United always seem to crumble at Goodison. Not that it matters - they're not under any threat whatsoever from those below them now.

but they will desperately want to finish above City, plus not having to go through qualifying for CL.

City are playing crap and their away form is atrocious, so they may well lose at Spurs & Swansea. also QPR will be desperate & Southampton are strong, so it's not an easy run-in.

Well he clearly had a lot of clout at the club internally, otherwise why would they have signed him to an 18month contract as manager with no qualifications? Doesn't mean the fans agree though - he'd never managed a single competitive game before.
He's clearly not useless, but some humility wouldn't have gone amiss.
