Ledley is a class act and if he was at one of the most more 'glam' sides I am sure he would REALLY be pushing for Rio's place in the England team.

Not to sure, I didn't really think about what Gallas prefers. Gallas is a stronger player than Clichy so I would pick him for left back.

Heinze would be a good option too.

I thought Arsenal fans may say the same as us, someone like Essien. As he would complete your midfield (I'd put him a fair bit in front of Gilberto) and he's much younger as well.

The defence looks good as it is.

Gilberto has been great for us so far this season though.

I know what you are saying and I thought of it too but I am still not convinced that he could hack an entirely defensive roe which is wht he would have to do unless we went 4-5-1 permanently

hmm, I'm less sure - very attacking midfield there - I think Wenger prefers a dedicated DM nowadays and Essien isn't that.

What would work is this:

Henry cutting to the left and Rosicky moving down the centre now and again

I really think Essien is the most complete midfielder in the league, so would be able to play in any position asked of him (not sure about left midfield).

Remember him giving Keane and Scholes a right ding dong a few years back for Lyon at Old Trafford as well and was desperate to sign him.

aye agree completely but being a 'complete' midfielder often means that your a jack of all trades and a master of none, and I can think of a lot better DMs and AMs out there than Essien.

He is the link man between the two - he can play both superbly might I add but he isn;t the best in the EPL at either I don't think.

Ideally suited to a 4-51 or 4-3-3 though

Yeah, I can see what your saying.

Makelele is a better pure defensive midfielder and there are better attacking midfielders.

If you are playing 3 midfielders and what someone box to box though, he's better than anyone, even Gerrard.

Depends on our tactics for this season I suppose but looking at the present squad I see the et back position as a bit vulnerable, esp with Clichy being injury prone.

Have to admit than on present form I wouldn't mind the Drog either (more so Rooney though )
