If you want the big name players, you have to be clever with the rest of your selections. I even changed some of the prices. Marca lists Puyol as 20 also!

1 change, that means if 1 player is injured and another is suspended it will cost you points to change them !

You have to put your feelings out of this -- prices are determined based on who is most likely to score more fantasy points. Defenders who can score are big assets.. Defenders who can score AND play on teams with good defensive records are worth more. Ramos and Roberto Carlos each scored 5 goals last season, Puyol scored 1. I can make Puyol worth 15 if there is really that much uproar. But I think defenders like Marquez and Zambrotta, who sometimes play in midfield (i.e. making it easy to score) should be more expensive than Puyol. Pernia scored 10 and now plays for the very stingy Atletico so he is worth 20. That is thought process anyhow. The prices aren't fixed in stone, like I said, if there is enough public outcry, we can adjust some.

Nah...if I didn't want to be bothered I wouldn't have volunteered to put this together. I'll keep thinking over the price list and see what changes seem appropriate.
I think Pernia at 20m. is right. This guy scored 10 goals (6 points per goal for defenders)! That is only three fewer than Torres. And now he plays for Atletico which have one of the best defensive records of any of the Spanish teams over the past 2-3 seasons.

Re: Spanish League Fantasy Football
The price list changes has ripped my team to pieces ( 6 players have had their price put up ) and i didnt have Pernia...back to the drawing board for me.
I think going off the current pricing it will be hard to pick a team. Yes it makes you look at the smaller clubs for their players but a problem with that is you get minus points when a team loses. IMHO the minus points for teams losing is a bad idea.
IMO we should be given 2 changes a week, 1 just makes it too hard to deal with injuries and suspensions, plus 1 change means it has to be like for like with regards money.
Obviously these are just my opinions i dont mean to moan and im happy to go along with anything that is decided.

Re: Spanish League Fantasy Football
I think the solution is to make the budget 125 m. It would be way too much work to rescale all of the prices

Re: Spanish League Fantasy Football
I just came up with a very good team, in my opinion, with a budget of 125. For eleven players, this would allow you to buy one of the top players 20-25m. and still be able to average ~10m. for the rest of the players. And there will probably still be some price adjustments before the game starts.
I think maybe you are right about not having -1 point for a team losing, because if we are encouraging people to find the good players in modest teams, it is almost like you are punishing them for the very thing we are trying to encourage.

Re: Spanish League Fantasy Football
I think this looks great as it is, I haven't looked at the price lists but I'm not going to fuss about that, if it's the rules then I'll just adapt my team. I agree with having 2 substitutions per week, any more makes it easier.
One suggestion - I don't think the 2 points for a win, or 1 for a draw etc. should really be included. Since this is a fantasy team more dependent on individual player performances, I think that would be an unfair penalty. For example, if Valdes screws up and Valencia beat us ( ) then poor Ronaldinho will lose points.
And one question - what do you mean in the rules by the budget is 125 million, but the value of your team cannot exceed 100 million? Aren't these two the same thing?

The budget is 125, the "cannot exceed 100 million" has just not been updated and is meant to read cannot exceed 125m.

The site is the last piece of the puzzle...
The final player lists (w/prices) will be confirmed next week, probably Wednesday so that people have time to create their team.
Stay tuned for more announcements...
