Northern Ireland produced yet another tremendous display to claim a 0-0 draw against Denmark in Copenhagen.
Last time out in Group F, Northern Ireland claimed a heroic win over Spain and although they could not match that display, they will be thoroughly proud of their efforts at The Parken Stadium.
Denmark dominated possession for much of the game and generated a host of chances, but Lawrie Sanchez's men defended superbly and were well worth their point.
The Danes started well and should have been ahead on more than occasion in the opening 45 minutes.
Peter Lovenkrands and Jon Dahl Tomasson both headed wide on more than one occasion when well placed.
It took the Northern Irish half an hour to create their first chance and it fell for Kyle Lafferty but he failed to really test Thomas Sorensen.
The Burnley man then saw a header well claimed by Sorensen, but again the Danes dealt with it fairly comfortably.
Denmark's midfield were dominating possession but they could not find a way through as Northern Ireland defended solidly to make sure it was scoreless at the break.
Into the second half and Denmark continued to press and Martin Jorgenesn fired an effort just wide, but Northern Ireland - particularly through Steven Davis and Keith Gillespie were breaking with much more meaning.
David Healy almost caught the Danish defence out as be broke clear in the box - but Liverpool's Dan Agger produced a wonderful last ditch tackle to disposes him as he was ready to pull the trigger.
Denmark were then forced to make a change in goal as Sorsensen came off the worst in a challenge with Jonny Evans and he was replaced by Jesper Christiansen.
The former Rangers keeper was almost embarrassed with his first touch of the ball as he dropped it in the six-yard box but luckily for him Healy could not take advantage and his defence cleared.
Auxerre midfielder Thomas Kahlenberg then came agonisingly close with 20 minutes to go as his shot from the edge of the area flew just wide of Maik Taylor's post.
Taylor was then forced into an excellent save flying full stretch to claim the ball from Christian Poulsen's stinging drive.
Yet another Taylor stop was required as he pushed Daniel Jensen's drive wide of the post, before Claus Jensen saw his effort excellently headed off the line by Aaron Hughes.
Birmingham striker Nikolas Bendtner was then introduced by Morten Olsen as the home side pushed on and his tricky skills set-up a chance for Agger, whose struck a tremendous drive which beat Taylor - but unfortunately for him struck the top of the bar and went over.
Denmark were camped in Northern Ireland's half for the last few minutes - but the visitors rearguard held tight to claim an excellent share of the spoils.
