BBC are reporting that Bolton have offered to loan Chelsea one of their keepers while both Cech and Cudicini are injured.

    Nice gesture? Or not? scratch

Very nice gesture, can they do it outside of the window?

Is it Ian Walker by any chance?

Lets recall Howard and send him to them. I can just see it now.

The precedent's been set though, hasn't it, with keeper moves outside the window in 'exceptional circumstances'? Didnt the FA sanction Everton cheating in this way a couple of years back?

Can't fully remember but Im sure its happened before.

Can't see Liverpool, Arsenal or Man United sending there reserve keepers.

Id be surprised if Bolton send them Walker. Say if Jussi got injured, they'd be stuck with 70 year old Poole again.

It's clearly a freak occurrence, and I hope they both recover fully and quickly Ale

But it does make me smile when Jose says 'I like to play with a small squad', and then moans like craxy when he gets a couple of injuries in key positions - it was the same a couple of years ago with all the wingers out at the same time.

Isn't Cudicini back in ten days anyway and they have Hilario for back up. Even if they loaned someone they wouldn't be able to play them against Barcelona, as they wouldn't have been registered in time.

iknow that Villareal had a six week period (not 100% sure how long it was) to find some to replace the injured pires and it was outside the transfer window.

Appreciate it from Bolton but there's no point. We have 2 fit keepers now, and Cudicini will be out MAXIMUM for 7 days. The only game where we might struggle for a keeper is Barcelona but I have full confidence that Hilario will do his best Ale

That was kind of my original point - it looked to me like Bolton made the offer knowing there was no realistic chance of it being taken up.

Plus the serious injury to Cech.

It seemed like the original comment was made by someone in the club's PR department, and Big Sam was like 'well if they ask us we'll consider it'.

I think its a good gesture, nothing synical.

Otherwise there'd look like pricks if Chelsea wanted to take up the other and they had no one to loan.

I think it's because we have three decent keepers and Allardyce wants Al-Habsi to have some experience.
